Hi everyone,

I have A9s and decide to raise to 2.5x from UTG. After getting called from the CO I Cbet the flop and got a call again. The turn brings me a flushdraw. Is this a good spot to fire a 2nd barrel as a blocking bet? If so, how big should I bet?

And is the preflop bet with A9s to loose in this situation?

With 17BB a raise is a bit iffy IMO, I'd prefer to shove/fold here
BTN and SB are quite loose but BB is tighter so a shove might get through, personally I shove but this may well be an error on my part

Iffy, that's a new word to me. Sounds funny :f_biggrin:

btt: Nash says this is a fold, but it's close. ATs would have been a push. Personally I do not like shoving with 17BB, but I guess that's a style-question.

haha sorry a bit of english slang slipping out there, I meant it was a bit questionable to raise there

Yeah I know what you mean I keep changing when I start shoving, I try to do what I think is best at each particular table and not have any set rules

I don’t think it’s bad to open A9s from UTG without antes in play, but its close 6 handed and I would most likely min raise only. As played I would go for a cheap river card with my flush draw. I don’t think he will fold to often on a pretty save turn card.

Cheers,

And if he bets you would only call with the right (implied) odds?

Indeed, but most of the time you get committed if he bets.
