Hi guys, this a hand I played on unibet so unfortunately no hand history or stats available.

Hero SB 190bb
Vilain CO 110

Pre flop:
Hero Q♣:A♥:
Vilain raises 2bb, Hero 3 bets 8.5bb, Vilain call

Flop: Pot is 18bb
5♦:8♥:9♣:
Hero bets 10bb, Vilain calls

Turn: Pot is 38bb
[5♦:8♥:9♣: ] 3♦:
Hero bets 30bb, Vilain folds

The hand is pretty straight forward, but I would like to ask you guys what range do you 3bet SBvsCO by default, from that range what part do you cbet on that flop, and from what you cbet what part do you fire a 2nd barrel on that turn. Lots of questions uh :roto2: xD

Here the required fold equity on the turn is (bet/pot+bet) 30/(38+30)=40%. I find people tend to call a lot OTF, but fold lot more than that 40% so I like barrelling here with a good part of my range. Here I have [AA-TT] as value combos (30) + 3 [99] + 4 [A9s].
How many combos should I bluff?

Hope you guys are having nice end of year and thanks in advance for answers !

At nl4 this guy might have had 66+ (in terms of pocket pairs) as long as JTs, QJs, KJ+. Cbet is required, you can easily get him off the pot when any K A comes in. But I wouldn't cbet on the 3 :diamond:, every KQ KJ AT/J you beat, why loose value, on the other hand pocket pairs are not folding most of the time. Worse hands than yours are folding, better aren't.

This is a range that I use SBvCO vs 2x open (from w34z3l's ranges)

This is from Snowie preflop advisor

Here I don't like Snowies range that much because it is 3bet or fold only and it is heavily merged. I think with that range we face more domination issues. And as you can see I have a lot more hands in the mixed category. Also I believe when we are OOP it is better to play more polarized. I don't know what opening size Snowie uses there but the range I use takes into account the small sizing.

Those should give you a rough idea what kind of hands you could be 3betting and how wide :)
Your 3bet size looks kinda big though. As a standard I would use 3x + 1bb when OOP. Maybe you can add 1.5 or 2bb when OOP but 2.5 begins to be quite large.

I wouldn't cbet this flop. Villain calls your 3bet with a lot of pocket pairs and broadways that are not folding. So you don't accomplish much by cbetting here. It is true that villain is capped when he just calls pre and he is probably folding too much vs double barrel on this particular board, but on the long run vs good opponents I think you would be losing money.

At the moment I'm working on value to bluff ratio and barreling frequencies. I would say when you have hands that can barrel 3 streets for value, you could have value to bluff ratios of 1:2 OTF, 1:1 OTT and 2:1 OTR. In many cases that might not be 100% true and there are a lot of things that changes our ratios. Here I don't think you would have 3 streets with your overpairs because usually villain either slowplays a set or folds. Here your value to bluff ratios could be 1:1 OTF and 2:1 OTT.

Take the above with a grain of salt. I have just started studying this stuff and I'm still a bit confused myself. What I wrote above might be total crap.

I have to disagree with this. We have 6 outer. Villains is not folding anything on the flop. We might make him to fold when A or K comes but that is just might. Villain has some Ax and KQ in his calling range too. Sometimes it will take 3 barrels to make him fold and sometimes he slowplays a set. I think this is a dangerous spot where you can end up making big mistakes.

la55i where can i find a full list of his ranges for every position ?.

As for the hand i wouldn't cbet here as i think that's a really horrible flop for us , it just connects with a'lot of sets 2 pair and TJ type hands . Unless we turn an A or Q i think we just end up giving a bet away on the flop and losing on turns far to often.

Jensee,

You can find Snowie Preflop Advisor here: http://www.pokersnowie.com/preflop-advisor.html
or
w34z3l's ranges here: https://www.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=309916&page=1

w34z3l also has more advanced ranges that take into account the different opening sizes but those are not free :(

@Dadramel I agree barrelling scare cards should work pretty well at this level, I heard that when reaching higher levels like nl25+ people are just aware that an A or a K on the trun is a good card to barrel and that we might be betting our entire range on it, so they might not fold that much. But here it looks like a good option. If the flop comes A high or K high and dry I just cbet and stop. Because if they don't give when the board hits my range I don't expect them to fold much turns.

@la55i me too I am kind of working on a game plan for those spots =) I have seen videos where coaches double barrel on low card boards, so at the moment I am just trying to barrel my almost entire range on low board cards, so far it is working ok but may be it is not the most ev. I try to balance turn tho by checking raising strong made hands trying to make them stab.

So far I have seen that bluff cbet and second barrels works pretty bad on Q and J high board, so here I am rather trying to play fit or fold.

You are HU?
Board is connected and with a cbet you will net make him fold much.
I prefer paying it passive.

I can't see how you could make money with this line in the long run. I don't like the turn Cbet at all and for me the bet is also too big.

Thanks la55i , i just wanted to compare against the ranges i'm using and for the most part they weren't drastically different. Its in the 3bet and 4 bet pots where i see some big differences. The 3bets weren't a million miles away but the hands i use in 4bet pots where quite different.
