Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum, sorry for my english I'm italian so maybe I can say something wrong.
I'm playing 3€ 27 persons mtt sng's and playing 3€ 6max stt sng's I have done 73 of the 27 ones with a ROI of 5% and 69 of 6 max with a roi of 45% I would like to know more a less how many sng's must I make before knowing witch my effective roi is and maybe not due to good/bad run? I guess variance is higher on the 27 ones...
I also would like to know witch are the main differences between the two types of sng's because besides variance I have a feeling that I'm lacking something on the 27 max sng's and play much better on the 6 max ones..thank you very much. I'm looking forward to see collin Moshman's posts and videos because after reading his book I started enjoing playing poker. thx
hello disk81
Welcome on the PokerStrategy forum
First, I recommend keeping it on 1 format, because it’s easier to improve that. The difference between the formats are huge. Especially in the end game of the SNG. The ICM is different between both formats.
If you don’t know what ICM is I recommend reading the articles:
Chip Value (1): The Principle of Diminishing Chip Value
Chip Value (2): The Fundamentals of the Independent Chip Model (ICM)
Chip Value (3): Application of the ICM
Chip Value (4): The Risk Premium Concept
To get a good view if you have a reliable ROI on a SNG format then you need to play over 10k games and you have still only an indication.
I expect this helps a little bit, but if you have more questions don’t hesitate to ask them
Cheers,

Thaknyou very much sdk I allready have some notions about ICM but the article helped me a little too
Now I am at 114 sNg played for 27 persons and 111 for 6max and now the Roi is 25% for the first and still 25% for the latter, I stertd playing less loose in early SnG in the 27 max because risking chips in 9max and 27 pers early is not very good beacuse for example getting a double up has not the same value for ICM then it has on a 6person SnG and I started beeing much more cautious about averybody's stack in the sit before i shove or call in late game and in bubble. Because I become more focused on 27 max I lost a bit of roi on the 6 max but still few more then 100 sit is not yet enough to determinate anything. I also tried a shot on passing from 8 to 10 tables simultan. and it went good but could have been luck or maybe I was in good shape and very concentrated so I dont and must not be sure to continue to want to play 10 tables til I am 100% sure I can handle it.
I understand the suggestion to play just one format, but I want to play 27pers. because it's the most played SnG on PS.it so if I want to multitable I must play this format, on the other and I am a very emotional player and evenif I'm working on it I tilt sometimes when I'm on a bad run or downswing, so I need 6max because it reduces the variance and keeps me from losing to much when i'm on a bad strike. Do you play SnG's SDK? how many tables do you play simoultanesly? Another question I would like to make is witch HUD stats should I use for SnGs? I have bought HM2 but I used Hud just for cash and I found many cash books witch suggests the stats to use but I didnt find any suggestions on stats for SnG so for now I'mnot using any. But I decided to start usign the so I created a Hud and I put the following stats: Hands played - VPiP - PFR -TOT STEAL - SB STEAL - SB FOLD TO ST.- BB FOLD TO STL - TOT OPEN MINIRAISE - OPEN SHOVE 1 -8BB UOP (I DONT KNOW WHAT THIS STAT IS EXACTLY, I IMAGINE AN OPEN SHOVE WITH 8BB OR LESS ?? - AND THE LAST IS OPENS SHOVE 9 -16 BB UOP. AND IN TOURNEY FILTERS I PUT FROM 1 TO 9BB OF STACK USE STATS FROM 1 TO 9 BB AND FROM 10 TO 81+ ALL THE SAME, BECAUSE I THINK THAT IF I DIVIDE TO MAY STATS I WILL HAVE A TO LITTLE SAMPLE OF HANDS AND ON 3€ SITNGO'S THARE ARENT THAT MANY REGULARS. Help me please I spent 99$ for HM manager and iI'm using it only for hande reviewing and analysys (witch is not bad but I would like to use HUD as well) THANKS Very much. bye bye:f_thumbsup:
Hi bro I dont play 3EUR like you but i started my bankroll with 0 on freerolls and SNG of 0.10 USD look after 340 tourneys i went up from 0 to 10$, My ROI is 200% and In The Money is almost 20%, about the HUD for me i use:
Notes/ VPIP/ PFR/ 3Bet PreFlop/ PreFlop AF/ WTSD (Must)
Name/BB/Hands/Fold to 3 Bet/ M( M factor is a MUST)
F-CBT/CBT
Fto F CBT /CBT Flop
Fto T CBT /CBT Turn
Fto R CBT /CBT River
Fold to steal/ Att to steal (BOTH ARE A MUST)
It would be nice to skype and check some hands but anyway im making a twich channel for cheking hands and chatting, add me srgoodman00 on twich.
Also a recomendation, i think you are overcharged with info and that could lead to anxiety and not playing your 100%
Also i see you have steal and f to steal atempt thats good bro but a recomnd is to not play o much whit the 8bb or less shove stat beacuase that could lead to many mistakes just because as you said there are not much of regs there then i think that would and will improve your game is using the m factor, because the m factor give you a hint of how is your stack and what kind of variatións un your game can you follow, how aggresive and picky or how loose can you be. i thinks thats all the advice my bro and good luck.

That’s a high ROI. What kind of limit are you playing?
Thx mr goodman, but I dont understand what Went to show down stat is usefull for, and WHat is M factor??
1-7$ games, normal speed, i think 60% 1$, 30% 3$. I quit this games, to slow, now i play spin and gos.
M = stack / (SB + BB + Antes) it means how many rounds of chips u have left.
Oh that M factor, I know what it is but i Think it's more usefull in bigger Mtt's then in Sng's...
