AA fold turn?

Your hand is not particularly vulnerable. I don't like that raise OTT very much, you are basically turning your hand into a bluff.
Villains small bet OTT can easily be to induce you to raise, or then he has Qx and realizes you can't have many good hands on this board and therefore bets very small.

Good fold. I too think the villain has a Q. In retrospect, you could have called the turn bet and then reevaluate the river. You might spike an A on the river.

Well, I wouldn't. I'd call at least once. But I'd check and fold on turn on that Q.

Why the heck did you try to check-raise bluff on turn? Trying to make KQ go away?

Villain played it like KQ or AQ and you cannot make him fold that . Flop play is ok but on turn you can safely xf.

He bets 1/6 of the pot I'd seen him b/f in that spot before

just call then... to keep his bluffsand weaker hands...Do not raise as you will face only hands that beat you.

You are either way ahead (vs the flush draws, middle pairs, etc) or way behind (Qx).

If the villain is a thinking player they might be betting small to induce a raise (unlikely at NL2)
If the villain is a normal NL2 player, then a small bet means either, weakness or complete lack of understanding of bet sizing (most likely).

It would cost you less to x/c OTT and re-evaluate on the river. Most likely a x/c (against a small bet) or x/f (against a large bet).

My personal experience with NL2 and NL5 has been that players are happy to bluff when they perceive weakness (you check) but river bets are far more honest than other streets.
Strong bets (actually most bets) are usually a sign that they have a good piece of it

Agree with the above. x/c OTT, x/f OTR if not improved.
