Hi guys ! yesterday I dropped a few buy-ins, that's not a big deal but I'd like to know if there are some hands that I could have played better.

hand 1
iPoker - €0.04 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 48.5 BB (VPIP: 25.34, PFR: 8.11, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 297)
UTG: 100 BB (VPIP: 22.22, PFR: 18.52, 3Bet Preflop: 7.69, Hands: 27)

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 9♠ 9♣ 4♥ A♣

Flop: (11.5 BB, 3 players) 7♦ 8♥ 7♣
SB checks, Hero checks, BTN bets 6 BB, SB calls 6 BB, Hero calls 6 BB

Hero mucks 9♠ 9♣ 4♥ A♣ (Flush, Ace High)

SB shows 7♥ 2♠ 8♠ 2♥ (Full House, Sevens full of Eights)
(Pre 37%, Flop 91%, Turn 95%)
SB wins 82.75 BB

Here I hit backdoor flush and I think in the river he might bet trips or smaller flush so I called on the river.

hi ! preflop I have a prenium hand so I 3bet. then I cbet for value, the turn I think I should have bet again when I improve, but I am not sure of what could be his calling range of the flop. So I thought that I might be way ahead or way behind and decided to go check call. River I should have folded.

On the flop check call is probably better, bet I had the feeling that I was getting about the right price, on the turn I have 2€ to play into 10 so here too I felt like he is never folding so I put what remained of my stack into the pot.

I glanced on the first three hands. You should read a book about the game in general. I got the impression you play it like you'd play Hold'em. You can't.

EDIT: I read some more. To be honest, you make just about every error in the book. If you don't like to pick up an Omaha book, then do this: Start playing exceedingly tight!. Draw only to the nuts. Straight draws (to the nuts) need at least 13 outs. If you flop the nuts with a straight, then if you bet and are raised and reraised, fold, unless you have a strong redraw.

If you don't flop either a very strong draw (to the nuts of course), and if you don't have at least top two pair, preferably a small set, just run for cover. Overpairs and less than top two are totally unplayable if you have two opponents or more.

I could make an endless list of advice on how tight you must be. I will not bore you to death with it. But one final advice: If you are raised on the river, fold everything except stone cold nuts. This is the easiest to implement and securest advice.

EDIT: I am aware that this is shorthanded against doofuses, not fullring against professionals. (Thus you could conceivably loosen up.) But as it seems like this is all you are aware of, I'd wait with loosening up if I were you.

I would not post multiple hands in one thread but ok. I looked at the first hand now, will look at the other ones later. In this specific case with you hitting your T on the river, I would go broke here as well. Villain needs either JJ or 99 to beat you and as long as villain stacks off here with ANY boat, you will be ahead of his range so that is a bit of a cooler. If you hadn't hit your T you wouldn't have lost a cent imo.

Please post one hand per thread. Makes it a LOT easier to comment.

Hand 1: on the flop either bet yourself or check-fold. Even their bluffing range has good equity versus you.
Hand 2: Don't 3bet rainbow hands.
Hand 3: Bet big on the flop.
Hand 4: Well played.
Hand 5: Don't donk. You just isolate yourself against strong range and don't get any value from possible bluffs. And you can't get 3 streets of value anyway. Check flop and if it goes checked through then bet turn.
Hand 6: Fold preflop.

Well, if you really want to talk about the hands separately, then post them in separate threads.

First hand:

Preflop: No reason to raise with this pile unless your opponents are pushovers or you play well postflop. Your hand is a (weak) drawing one with poor high card strength. I prefer cheap multiway rather than isolation in this case.

Flop: It is a gross mistake to call on the flop. If you draw at runner-runner flushes or at hitting a small overpair for FH, then you should have your licence revoked.

You want good draws to the nuts or nuts made with redraws in this game. Even if it is the case that at a table with 4 idiots not understanding this, you will see one of the walking away with a fantastic win. That winning idiot will lose his win (and more) the next few sessions and lose all, just like the first 3 idiots did.

Turn (as played): Here's you chance. Bet! You may make him fold a better hand, and can hit backdoors that will beat some other hands.

River (as played): Well, this is up to you. Calling is based on the theory that SB had a mini-flush draw on the flop, and possibly made a worse decision than even you combined with the aggressive move of value betting a non-nut flush on a paired board. He may also have 44/TT/74/T7 or a slowplayed 87 or 88. I'd fold.

Hand one: "Here I hit backdoor flush and I think in the river he might bet trips or smaller flush so I called on the river."

But ask yourself if he would POT it with these hands??

knowing that with him having trips or a small(er) flush, you could also have a boat+ and he also cannot have the NF because you already have it. Call on the flop was dubious imo.

thanks a lot for taking the time to help !
I posted all the hands together because there are not a lot of hands posted and I didn't wanted to look like I was spamming the forum but yeah next time I will do one by one.
These are a lot of horrible plays, but I am just started with omaha and I for sure have not studied enough.
I see that I am mostly overplaing not nutted hands, which will be very easy to fix.. and the good thing is that other people do this same mistake too so once I get a little bit better that should work pretty good for me :)
That is a very cool game and I am enjoying it, here that was a bad session but fortunately that does not happen all the time.

No reason to raise with this pile unless

Yohan, you mean I should fold or limp?

The only reason to raise with 9♠:9♣:4♥:A♣: is to buy the button and to force the blinds to pay to play with random holdings. Actually, I'd raise first in here, and raising isn't wrong.

But the advice was written with my perceived view on how you play. I got the impression that you quite generally put too much money in the pot with weak hands. The place to start is to do it the other way around, that is, to play tighter and slightly more passively than optimal. This is not Hold'em so pushing slight preflop edges isn't as important. It is much more important to assess flops and the true value of the hand on later streets. If the pot is kept small to begin with, mistakes (they'll be there for a while) later on in the hand will be less expensive.
