Too bad you didn’t give your own analyze about the hand, but I don’t think the BTN will shove too often with less than a J or an strong flush draw. That’s why I would shove against a unknown in a spot like this.

In general I would tend to flat the ATo here instead of 3-betting... Was this intended to be a value- or a bluff-3-bet? If you had reads that the donkey will call your 3-bet with hands like the one he showed up with I suppose it was a value 3-bet... However against an unknown or a reg I think we are isolating ourselves against a range here against which we do not really want to play postflop oop. By flatting we keep all the aces we dominate in the enimy's range. That being said one should consider that a good reg (unless he is trapping) would never flatcall here against your 3-bet investing more than 25% of his stack, thus committing himself more or less to the pot but rather play 4-bet-shove or fold...
So from the fact that he flatted here we can deduct that he is probably a weak opponent which makes it more likely that he will broke otf not only with TP and draws but also with lots of Tx hands we dominate. Therefore you should have the required equity of about 25% getting 3:1 on your flop call...
Furthermore I do not see the advantage of a direct flop-shove... I do not see hin folding TP or strong FDs to a flop shove so by betting rather small we might even induce shoves by hands like KQo which he would perhaps have folded to a direct shove (although I doubt that a donkey would ever fold an OESD in such a spot...) So in the end it should not make all that much of a difference...

But it is indeed heartwarming to see that the donkey got punished in the end
