shoving AK/QQ preflop
I want a conservative opinion about shoving AK/QQ pf. on most NL25SH/ and also NL50SH

I tend to shove AK more often than QQ,

If I get 3bet from Rock (smth. like 15/13 and 4% 3bet) I call AK/QQ
If I get 4bet from Rock (smth. like 15/13 and 4% 3bet) I fold AK/QQ

If I get 3bet from "TAG" (smth. like 19/13 and 5,5% 3bet) I 4bet AK and call QQ
If I get 4bet from "TAG" (smth. like 19/13 and 5,5% 3bet) I shove AK and fold QQ

If I get 3bet from "LAG" (smth. like 26/16 and 6,5%+ 3bet) I 4bet AK and not sure if I 4bet QQ
If I get 4bet from "LAG" (smth. like 26/16 and 6,5%+ 3bet) I shove AK and not sure if I shove QQ

against wierd min 3/4bets from guys like 56/8 I tend to call/fold AK/QQ

does it have smth. to do with total AF?

or you can post me a link to an article (few pages long, it does not have to be a whole book)

thanks

Hello Talic,

sorry for my bad english-skills, but i am from the german part of pokerstrategy and want to improve my english.

Do you know the pokerstrategy-equilator?

I just dont see why you push AK and fold QQ?
Either of them got nearly the same Equity versus Villains-Range.

Here one example versus an Tight 4bet/broke Range:

Villain: QQ+, AKs, AKo

Equity with AK:39,594%
Equity with QQ:40,207%

And remember you have many foldequity with your 4bet with QQ

You raise MP with QQ to 4bb an get an 3bet to 12bb + blinds 1,5bb

you can win with your 4bet 17,5bb because your opponent has to fold many hands fromt his 3betting range...

if he has 5,5% 3bet this means he 3bets nearly: 99+, AQs+, KQs, AQo+

and if you 4bet and hes really tight and call only QQ+,AKo+, hes has to fold: AQs,AQo,KQs,99,TT,JJ.

and you ever win 17,5bb

and if youre opponets go broke looser, like:

villain: TT+, AQs+, KQs, AKo
Equity with AK: 45,662%
Equity with QQ: 53,511%

QQ is the better Hand because it Dominates TT / JJ and AK only got an coinflip vs. TT / JJ

i hope it helps a little bit.

with AK there is less KK and AA hand combination, that was my suggestion and my thought

Okey, but please ship it with QQ in the future, you have so many foldequity... use it :)

basicly:

AK: 32% against KK (3), 45% against QQ (6), 7% against AA (3)
QQ: 57% against AKo (12), 54% against AKs (4) 18% against KK (6) and 18% against AA (6), 50% against QQ (1)

(x) = combinations of the hand

result: ??????

speculative: shoving range QQ+,AK+

QQ: vs. AKo, AKs,QQ,KK,AA

12x57%+4x54%+1x50%+6x18%+6x18%/29 = 40,2%

AKo (lets say): vs. AKo, AKs,QQ,KK,AA

8x50%+6x44%+3x31%+3x8%/20 = 39,05% (remember its AKo!)

ok.. so I discovered totally nothing, its the same (AKs is the winner tho)
