Day 3
Played close to 5 hours, studied (hands + video) and had training with Sensei.
Today like in previous days, there were miss plays but variance also played a large role. Its hard to talk about variance when in 531 games I have 17 cEV and I am winning despite it pre RB 540$ !!! (won 25x and 10x).
Mental game today was improvement in comparison to previous 2 days. I would rate it 4.5/10 as minimum if not 5.5/10.
After going through a lot of hands from past 3 days, I saw different patterns for hands that I am marking:
- Miss plays/Spew
- Close spots
- Good hand but opponents call super wide
- Theory and range construction for such spot (to write it all out so it clicks next time)
- Pre flop (to double check if based on stats I made right adjustment)
From all these categories, the most hands fall under good hand but opponents call super wide which is excellent. On the 2nd place is theory and range construction to recap my knowledge along with spews and then its close spots with pre flop.
I have been experimenting and implementing new things in my game - which is a great thing. My game plan is constantly evolving and being tweaked and sometimes it works great, other times I get gang banged and that's fine too.
What is obvious in these 3 days is that majority of opponents on 15s think very little of range vs range. In other words, they play absolute strength hand vs relative and pay very little attention to how their hand looses value on later streets.
There have been many hands that I pulled the right move but got very light called. Of course that's where cEV went through the window mostly but also standard variance pre flop spots.
I will continue to study and grind at the same time. Today I experimented playing over 2 hours long session right after my nap. It worked out good for me, felt like I reached A game at times and was in the zone more. So in future days will experiment to play longer sessions to cut down wait time. This of course while gets volume in is problem for studying hands because they keep building up a ton for later study.
So far, 16.85 grind in. I am about 3.25 hours behind volume mainly due to lower grind yesterday and today. I will have days with 7+ hours again so that should work out by the end of the month I am positive.
I am more curious and working to find my rhythm for grind (to stick to short or switch to 3 long sessions per day) as well as optimal study time (hh reviews of marked hands with full thinking process). I am positive by the end of the month this experimenting will keep happening until I find what puts me in the zone to play my solid B game.
Variance is on my side in the challenge (close to 700$ profit in 16.85 hours) but I am not getting blinded by it in any way. Working on the game is essential to implement those new concepts and keep improving hand reading, textures, and other more advanced things. I like how today when I played longer session (2+ hours) I did some of those things. Certainly will check DB with full analysis when I get to several K games with these new adjustments I am making in my game. Hopefully it will prove to be more profitable then previous game plan because in theory it is but in practice it may prove to be burning money, lets see what happens.
Tomorrow guitar lesson and working on the game with grinding. Will go for 3 times 2 hour sessions. Feel this could work best when I don't have 7am training with Sensei, outside of that would need to do those shorter sessions.
Will post next graph in the middle of the month and one at the very end for sample comparison (3k vs 6k+ games)!
