After having been off from poker for about 5 years, I decided to give it another try! Here I come, haha! 
:f_p: I am starting by three-tabling NL5 Full Ring. These are my first 1,200 hands:
As you can see, I clearly loose in non-showdown winnings and so far I couldn't make up for that on the showdown. This is one of the things I want to work on and my goal is a constantly (but slightly) increasing red line! How do I approach this? I googled around and found information e.g. here and here. This is my personal list that I have put together so far:
Preflop: 3bet more
In my first 1,200 hands, I 3betted 5.63% preflop. I plan to increase that value up to about 8%. Since I feel a bit unconfortable playing oop, the idea is to 3bet relatively tight when OOP (so in the blinds) and looser when IP (so at BU, CO, MP+2, MP+1).
Preflop: No flat calls oop
I already barely do this, but part of the game plan to improve my red line is definitely to reduce the hands with which I flat call a raise oop to an absolute minimum. I guess weaker hands can just be folded and stronger hands can be 3bet. Pocket Pairs might be an option for a flat call oop in order to hit a set.
Postflop: C-bet more selectively
I often find myself in the position that I raise preflop, take a shot at the pot by firing one C-bet on the flop, but then go over in a check/fold mode on the turn if I missed. I want to change this habit into C-betting more selectively, but if I do, have the confidence to second- and third-barrel suitable Turn and River cards that are scaring Villain's range but improve mine. The task here is obviously to constantly be aware of which boards hit my range more than Villain's and which ones have the potential to further threaten Villain's range on later streets.
Postflop: Float more
This move falls in the category of "playing the player" rather than your cards. I plan to increase the number of situations in which I float a Flop C-bet and make a step at the pot on the turn. Preferebly with Ace-high hands that have some showdown value against draws.
Postflop: More Semi-Bluffs with Draws
Often I just check/call with draws. My goal is to raise/donk more with these hands. As I've learned from this video, playing draws agressively has the advantages that
[*] your hand is more disguised and harder to distinguish from stonger hands like Top Pair or a Set
[*] you're not only winning if you hit. Through the generated Fold Equity, you also win if Villain folds
[*] if you hit, the pot is bigger and you're going to win more
My questions to you:
Do all my thoughts make sense? Will these kind of moves even work at NL5 or is a negative red line perfectly fine at these limits? But then how am I going to move up the stakes while being so dependent on my showdowns? What else is there? Any good teaching resources that focus explicitely on the red line?
