Preflop: Hero is Button with J, A
6 folds, Hero raises to t150, 1 fold, BB raises to t350, Hero raises to t1565 (All-In), BB calls t1215

As the title says, Hero has AJ on the button and opens 3x.

BB reraises very little, just above minraise.

All three options worth considering:

Fold: it's still very early in the tournament, if Hero folds, he has a very healthy stack to play with almost 30 BBs.

Call: folding AJ on the button is kind of weak. Since Hero considers himself a better post-flop player than others, call is optional.

Shove: probably not a good option, taking into account all the factors.

At that moment, without thinking too much, I shoved because the reraise was so small, hoping to get a fold. After looking at the hand I am confused how should I have played there.

Your thoughts?

Flop: (t3155) Q, A, K (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: t3155

If I call, is it possible to get away after flop? Top pair, reasonable kicker, gutshot. Yet, I am beaten by basically every hand if reraiser is tight.

Looking for comments.

shoving is not an option, your stack is way too big and your hand to weak to push it , why burning a 20 M stack with AJo preflop

I probably call with position and reevaluate a flop, a AKQ board is not good enough to go broke.

i consider AJ a marginal hand when my stack is so healthy.. you can definitely call here but i wouldn't shove unless he was shortstacked.

as for the flop you don't go broke cuz hands like KQ,TJ ,AK, AQ and flush/straight draws are out there and i won't go broke early against those hands with top pair good kicker.

I think I'd call preflop, and call once (or twice) postflop, folding to a turn (or river) bet if unimproved. Or minraise his cbet back on the flop, trying to get 2 free cards this way, maybe a free showdown?

Actually with blinds at 50 id only call preflop, and on the flop, folding to a turn bet, not enough stack to maneuver on such a board, you pretty much beat only a bluff or TT/JJ.

Fair enough, I completely agree that shoving was the worst option.

I guess calling and folding turn would be one of the better lines, but: after flop there is 725 in the pot, I am left with 1565-350=1215 chips. Let's say he contibets around 500 - if I call, I am left with 715. How can I fold turn with these odds?

Folding pre? Hmm...

i think it depends much on the reads

against an unknown player i would call preflop. i have a decent hand, the odds are good and my position is favourable.

so folding is far too weak.

pushing is a big mistake your stack is just too big.

on this kind of board it depends....
normally i dont think i can fold this.
because, he is BB and sees a button raise, so his reraising range may be AT+ , A8s+ , 66+ and so on.

so on this flop i`m far away from beeing beat most of the time.

if i got no reads at all, its really tough. because if you call on the flop a normal sized contibet your somehow comitted.
against some loser / agressive players i would shove it on the flop.
