BTN: $2.16 (108 bb)
SB: $1.80 (90 bb)
Hero (BB): $2 (100 bb)
UTG: $5.16 (258 bb)
MP: $0.74 (37 bb)
CO: $2.54 (127 bb)
Preflop: Hero is BB with K♠: 9♥:
2 folds, CO raises to $0.06, BTN folds, SB calls $0.05, Hero calls $0.04
I've got 22% pot odds as BB, against CO who should open somewhat wide and SB who's capped since he didn't 3bet. A call seems reasonable to me here.
Flop: ($0.18) J♥: 4♣: 9♣: (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.10, CO calls $0.10, SB folds
This decision I'm unsure about. I chose to bet here for two reasons. First is for value since CO and SB seems to have a lot of draws in their range: flushdraws with medium connectors, suited aces, some straight draws with QT or maybe T8. These all seem reasonable holdings for them. They might also have the J, but it seems more likely for them to have some kind of draw. Second is I can try to buy position for the following streets if CO folds. He probably has the widest range out of both villains so it's something I considered when betting.
Merits of checking here are that it might be unlikely to make villains fold given that they probably hit the flop in some way. We could induce a cbet from the CO with a worse hand. We also keep the pot smaller with a medium hand in a multiway pot. We might also see a free card, which might help us make a decision on the turn on how good is our middle pair.
Turn: ($0.38) J♣: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.25, Hero folds
I expect CO's calling range to be top pair or better, flushdraws with some kind of connector or a suited ace, straight draw with QT or maybe T8, some smaller pockets like 55-88 and some overcards AK,AQ,AT that didn't believe my bet on the flop.
I decide to check since it seems unlikely to be to be called by worse than a 9, especially with the flush completing. The fact that it a J doesn't really change the hand I think. When villain bets, it seems again unlikely that he has a worse hand than a 9. Maybe he's bluffing seeing weakness in my turn check, but it's probably going to be too costly to find out. So a fold here seems right to me.
