1. don't open this on MP, rookie mistake. open it only if A and K are suited AhKd5h6d for obvious reasons, 5 high FD doesn't do shit in plo when OOP.
2. as you're being MP this board doesn't hit you at all so vs thinking player he'd know you're full of shit vs a maniac that cbets pot and folds obv good play but I'm not sure you knew that when you raised since in general pot cbets are strong, the problem I see is spr being 10 which is A LOT like stacking off here with little equity is losing BIG, plus by raising you're diminishing your positional advantage which is the whole point of being in position, if u raise you give him an easier choice like with hands that we'd like to stackoff he just does it fast which he like being OOP and with shit he folds without thinking like you're making life easy for him, while if you call any card that comes you can have and represent and he'll be in a guessing game thats why position is good and you wasted it here, I'm pretty sure it's always a call this with this spr, if u call spr will be 3 and flush or str8 etc. can come and he has no clue what you have and you have more info on him so I'd say call 100%

Yep I see calling as probably being +EV too, but I'm wondering how many turn cards we can really continue with vs (say) a potsize bet? For example, let's say turn is Ts and villain pots. Don't we have to fold our hand? Given we have 57% equity now against even a tight 6% preflop range do we really gain that much from calling? Would love some more opinions on this hand.

Preflop I'm willing to accept what you say, although hand is in top 8% PPT so can it really be that bad to open from MP?

he's not gonna bet every turn, especially pot, if he is going to do that than it's even better to raise turn because he'll be folding a lot and you'll make even more money from his two bets instead of one. remember when you're in position you WANT the spr to be high to use your position therefore you want to be calling by raising you only make his life easy, if u call turn will be easier to play for you than for him, seems like you're scared of this maniac style but you shouldn't be because in position board runouts will favour you and you have many more possibilities which you'll see them as you gain more experience

yes man, if a hand is in top8% that doesn't mean it's playable, this is not holdem. like example AKQs3s is top 15% but you don't(i hope) open from MP while JT98ss is top 22% but you do open it from mp, or KK73 rainbow is top19% and you don't open it from MP wile A982ds is 21% and you also don't open it from MP but 9876ds is 23% and you do open it from mp, like you can't look at opening ranges through how well they do compared to each other you must go through suitedness connectivity high card strength variables the hand has and the situation you'll be in as in oop high spr multiway ... like the hand you opened is a snaaaap fold, 6h flush is nothing oop multiway, and with K blocking 2nd nuts when you hit the flush it's even worse!

Yep, understand that playability is an important issue. And I agree that this hand suffers in that respect. But we don't have to ensure that all hands we open UTG or MP are 'playable' do we? I mean, we are going to open AA45r from UTG aren't we?

Agree about calling in position here. I looked at some random turn cards in PJ and seems like we will be doing pretty well on many runnouts - thanks.
