I experience some discs atm (SKY). What backups can you guys recommend? Most important is to reconnect asap obv
(btw Virgin does not work at my place)

Good question for sure. I would most likely use my mobile as back-up internet, but lucky my internet works fine here.

Yup, good question but I'm not sure how many good answers you will get since we have members from all around the world and this depends a bit on country where you live.
In Finland I do have a fast and stable internet connection and if that for some reason stops working I can make my phone a wifi hotspot. I have unlimited 50mbit/s data on my phone.
