Well, might very well be, but usually, the people there are very tight. So nothing really gets decided until the blinds are big enough to take a big chunk out of you, so it might still be down to luck.

Sure its a good way to improve your poker skills. Any kind of poker play will improve your skills. Might also want to try cash games too.
generally i have found no-one really plays till a few rounds of blinds have gone up. So you need some luck when the blinds are high. But it does show the patience required for MTTs so all good 
DoN's are very good for practicing ICM
You lose some value if you're good in SnG-s cause you dont make so much profit if you're CL when tourney is over.
I don't think there's much to learn that can be used in other games than DoNs.
When I play them I fold anything except AA and KK, and then I push directly having a huge edge most of the time. Usually that's enough to get ITM.
Else I have to get lucky ♦
I have no problem folding QQ on the bubble.. Or even AK..
