Hi again guys! I bring you two hands in with i have some doubts about my last session. :f_rolleyes:

First hand

How should i play this turn?

*First of all, i usually fold my small PP against a 3B oop, but i decided to call this one

partypoker - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 305.6 BB
BB: 207.4 BB
UTG: 102.8 BB
MP: 100 BB
Hero (CO): 131.4 BB
BTN: 110 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 4♥ 4♦

fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.4 BB, BTN raises to 7.6 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 5.2 BB

Flop: (16.6 BB, 2 players) 4♣ Q♠ 4♠
Hero checks, BTN bets 11.8 BB, Hero calls 11.8 BB

Turn: (40.2 BB, 2 players) K♥
Hero checks, BTN bets 25.4 BB, Hero ??

Second hand

I think i should donk this river at 35-50% of the pot and hope he call with his Qx, Ax, or the other 9. The unique hand he would bet here must be a flush i think

*Note: he is a ridiculously aggressive player, had a 3B of 45 in war of blinds and 3B me in the last 8 attempts to steal or some, so i decide to limp/call, to look at a cheap flop.

partypoker - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: 101.5 BB
MP: 114.5 BB
CO: 100 BB
BTN: 101.3 BB
Hero (SB): 242 BB
BB: 119.5 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♥ 9♦

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 0.5 BB, BB raises to 4 BB, Hero calls 3 BB

Flop: (8 BB, 2 players) Q♠ 7♣ 9♥
Hero checks, BB bets 5.7 BB, Hero calls 5.7 BB

Turn: (19.4 BB, 2 players) A♠
Hero checks, BB bets 11 BB, Hero calls 11 BB

River: (41.4 BB, 2 players) 9♠

Hero ??

Let's see what you guys think! _drink:

First hand I would fold to a 3bet, but as played I would check/call the turn with quads. We don’t want to scare away our villain and I would check/shove the river most of the time.

2nd hand I would normal raise/fold pre-flop, but against an aggressive player this is fine as well. Not sure he would always 4x in the BB against you. The rest of the hand seems standard and the river is for him still a good card to bluff on us and I would check/shove the river for value.

Cheers,

Hand 1: I would make a small raise OTT. If he has a K (or better) he will call. If he doesn't have smtg he can call with there is prob not much value to gain anyway.
if we call 2 streets and donk river it looks very strong but we might get some value. check river and hope he will tripple barrel is too much to ask, imo.

Hand 2:
Fold pre. I would certainly not limp from SB and I won't call that raise either.
If you want to trap guys like that, you need a hand to do it with and not a craphand, imo.
I would raise either flop or turn for value.

As played I would bet pot OTR. The only hands that (should) give value are high flushes and they will also call big bets.

First hand, whatever you do, don't check three streets.

Second hand: since he is angry, maybe check is okay.

The thing is the board isn't too understanding for raises there

fisrt hand: i am shoving turn. U dont have to raise on the flop sinc we dont need to protect our hand but on the turn i want to get as much value as possible out of draws. Vs some more passive guys u can even donk out on the turn if u expect to see lots of check back from AK.

second hand: again dont slowplay your value hands at those stakes. Just raise the flop and get it in asap.

Hand 1: I had a similar idea. In fact i made a small raise if i remember correctly. But it's problably a bad movement. :f_mad:
Hand 2: I don't understand your lines here. I think C/R the flop is unnecessary, i mean he is a bet machine, let him bet! And i'm blocking Qx, so he just call with some draw... OTT could be better to C/R, but it's a scary card, we are demonstrating too much strong imo, he will fold almost anything. I think is better to keep all his amount of bluff in the bag. :f_biggrin:
And should i donk pot OTR? With a double up card in here and a FD complete, he will fold everything but the FD imo.

Hand 1: I agree with YohanN7 in here, i think villain is not gonna triple barrel here because we demonstrate having showdown value calling OTT. And check 3 streets hoping he bet it's too risky. Are we wrong SDK1987? Your opinion it's allways really valuable _cool:

Hand 2: Okay i'm cool now haha, this hand was a trouble for me. I check in here, but really doesn't know if that was the most EV+ movement.

Same question haha. I think you mean the first hand. That i'm demonstrating i have a K if i raise, but also i can have JT or a FD, i make this kind of c/r sometimes.

Wooow totally different lines than i read before, i love it. :f_drink: :f_drink:

Hand 1: I don't consider to raise flop either. But also don't consider to shoving turn, i mean he bets 11bb, how can i shove for 100bb? I mean is not too scary for him? You think he will call with a 19% of equity that gives a draw?
I like the idea of raising due to he have a lot of draws, any 86, 6T, JT and FD. But shoving is a entire new idea for me haha.
Can you please answer this questions when you have some free time? I'll appreciate it. :f_biggrin:

Hand 2: Really you want to raise flop with nuts in this dry board? What do you expect here to call this raise? It sounds aggresive, but it wasn't it, i just don't know how to make the question lol.

Thanks to everyone to anwser, really appreciate it!

If you have another correction/idea to make, feel free to do it.

Regards!

1. Fold pre-flop, call flop, turn NAI check-raise. Not 2x, looks too strong, but we want the FD and JT.
2. Fold pre-flop with this info. Check-raise on the flop. As played, check-raise on the river.

I think folding OTF would be fine.

You are asking if your turn raise was bad. Why did you raise here? What was the reason/thought process when you decided to raise?

I watched a coaching video in wich the guy explain why he sometimes don't raise his draws OTF, but raise OTT. He said it was a strong movement but sometimes gets you in troubles.

I don't know why i try to do hard things all the time.
I'm going to take a break from poker and make a study routine, and then star playing way much more TAG. I'm a SLAG right now (25/20 over 125k hands). Sorry for waste your time @la55i

You are not wasting my time :f_biggrin: I'm here to help :)

I was just asking because I want you to think about this situation and if it makes any sense.
You don't have a very good hand, you have only a gutshot and if river comes :club: it might be bad for you. Also the board is already paired so your straight might be behind. Villains line looks semi strong and I don't know how much fold equity we have here.

So this hand just doesn't work that well as a raise.

Just keep on playing and practicing :f_thumbsup:

sorry i have been bit in rush so i missed couple of things, but i just wanted to tell u that u should play your hands as fast as possible.

Hand one he is betting 25bb on the turn so shove is fine. U can have some bluff shoving range in 3bet pots on the turn as well. u dont need much of Fe because of the dead money :)

Hand 2 i still prefer to raise flop and také control of the pot. There is lots of turn card which can kill action.

J9o hand. The call on the flop is unnecessary. You will have enough combos for call. Turn call only. And then bluff on the river or give up. Your range will be too wide on the river with this type of play and just check back will be better.
