Hello there!
I'm 31 yo guy, who likes to relax by playing PC games, watch sports in my free time. Unfotunately my PC broke. (Will be OK in 1 month or so). I had nothing to do and decided to play some poker (on my laptop and big monitor). I used to play poker in large volumes before, like 5 years ago.
So. I deposited 50$ on poker platform and started playing NL2 cash, SH. After a few days I got to about +15$ and withdrew my deposited 50 bucks. By leaving only the won money I didn't have to worry about any losses. Good mindset move I guess.
Actually it was a bit stressful to play with 6BI, because of variance, but i had some success and after 15 days I'm up at ~75$.
I feel like I have a better control over tilting and can impact it by not playing at all for some time or tightening up preflop (from LAG to TAG ranges) for two orbits or so. I also feel better about my ability to stop playing if I feel tired, altghough I might do better.
My long-term goal:
Is to give poker a second chance and climb up the stakes by using 20 buy-in BR rule. That means I'll start playing NL5 when I'm past 100 bucks. I also need to prepare some extra warm-ups before my first game at higher stake. (3bet, 4bet sizes f.e.) I know that the first time at at higher stake is ussually way more tilt inducing.
Also will need to focus extra for player type reads and mark them if proven correctly (by hand showdowns mostly). So, I'll probably will start with 2-4 tables.
My short-term goal:
1. Is to balace table count depending on my energy levels.
Warm-up with 6 tables, normal level with 7-8 tables, if feeling sharp then 10 tables.
2. When playing 6 or tables less - postflop take time with all activities check, call, raise, fold. All should go for half the countdown bar.
3. Stop marking players too quickly. (Passive fun player vs. Agressive fun player, both very loose, but raises mean different things).
PS. Life EV > Poker EV. Need to GTO balance my life/poker ratio.
