200% ROI for turbo tournaments good?

I am newbie but I have been trying these turbo tournaments 3.50$ buyin no holdem 180 players.
I was at first merely break even, but I have had one month where I achieved an ROI of 200% while playing around 500 games.

Never made so much from poker in such a short period of time. Is that a normal ROI or is it just mere luck and variance?
What is the average ROI for games like this for a good player?

Hi Hendson,
Welcome to the community!

Have a look at Pokerdope's tournament variance calculator on google (not sure if I'm allowed to post the link). It should give you an idea of the confidence you can have on any sample.
I don't have much experience with 180 mans, but a ROI of 200% sounds like you're running hotter than the sun, so if I were you I would probably count the break-even months in your analysis.

ROI depends on a lot of factors, fish on the table, multi-tabling etc. but I would expect something in the range of 10%-30%.

I don't know much about tournaments but I have also understood that ROI around 30% would be decent. I remember someone saying that 100%+ is already so high it is unsustainable in the long run for everyone. Don't know if that is true but anyway, it looks like you have been running quite well :)

I have moved your thread to the tournament section.
Than you get more views of tournament players.
An ROI of 200% is insane high especially in a 180-turbo variant and I expect on long run a ROI of 25% is more realistic. I expect you can only reach an ROI like that on long run in 25c (45/90 man) SNG’s, but the variance in these games is a lot lower with the slower blind levels.

The 3.50 180s are rebuys. That means deeper stacks than the 2.50s and bigger prizepools. Also they are probably the gambliest looking SNGs which means weaker players, so I expect bigger ROI than the average that these guys are saying. But 200% is godlike! Enjoy while it lasts! ;)

Also do you rebuy? Perhaps if you do sometimes, your tracker doesnt include your rebuys into the overall buy-in, thus the big ROI
