Online play money tournaments with slower blinds?

That’s tricky, because FTP and PokerStars has the same games and they have so far I know the play money games the best choices of all poker rooms I know. There are some tournaments you start deep with also 5 minutes blind levels, but then you need at least 250k play money to enter.

Another option is to play SNG’s, but then you play most STT games and that’s off course different then the MTT games.

I sincerely hope this is a joke. There are a half dozen US facing sites that we've all (Americans) been playing on for years now. Online poker is better in the US now than it ever has been since Black Friday. I don't know why you've chosen to exclude yourself from this simply out of ignorance but no time like the present to turn things around, right?

No need to be a dick. All the poker apps I use lock you out of real money if you're in the US or they're shady Lithuanian or something apps. What app are you using that doesn't lock you out for being in the US and isn't illegal?

I just need more practice, at real casinos I break even or slightly better at 1-2 tables, and I'm a two hour drive from Mohegan Sun/Foxwoods so I can can't get there very often. If you can legally play in the US not in New Jersey, great, I'll do that, I just don't know what apps you can do it with.

Essentially you are right. There are rooms such as America's Cardroom, BetOnline, Ignition etc however, they do operate illegally. Virtually all poker rooms' Terms & Conditions contain a clause saying something like the below from PokerStars:

The Software is licensed to you by Rational Group for your private personal use. Please note that the Service is not for use by (i) individuals under 18 years of age, (ii) individuals under the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction and (iii) individuals connecting to the Sites from jurisdictions from which it is illegal to do so. Rational Group is not able to verify the legality of the Service in each jurisdiction and it is the User's responsibility to ensure that their use of the Service is lawful.

This means that it is the players responsibility, so they can confiscate your funds anytime they want to, provided they can prove that you are playing from a legal jurisdiction. It is unlikely that this would actually happen as US players make up a large percentage of players on those sites.

However, other issues may arise. Some deposit/withdrawal options may not be available as some payment processors may be operating within US law.

On the bright side, there are some poker apps appearing where players create their own clubs and can play real money within that club. Also there is Global Poker which uses a virtual currency in-game.

Both these types are white-listed by PayPal which would suggest that those models are currently legal.

Dude, come on - Those poker "clubs" and their tournaments are beyond soft. It's poker with like three condoms on. The cardrooms and online casinos we're all playing on (WPN, Ignition, BetOnline, etc) are NOT illegal for us to play on. At all. The money's safe, there are $1,000,000+ payouts regularly after huge tournaments, and several beyond reputable sites have reviews, complaints, discussions about withdrawals, etc. The aforementioned rooms are safer for you to play on than your friend's home game. It's a total non issue here in 2018 and has been for years.

As I stated above, the rooms are breaching US laws (most notably the UIEGA and the Wire Act), not the players.

Then I apologize for misunderstanding. Technically, nobody's breaking any laws but according to the US - The sites are. The player's can't be touched. As far as the money being safe: These are different days than Black Friday. They have no access to seizing cryptocurrency and there's all sorts of ways to protect yourself. It's 2018 and times have changed drastically since 2013 when US online poker was at it's absolute worst ever.
