Number #1 Best Strategy: Play fewer hands. If you just have to have more action, play video poker instead.
Number # 2 Best Tactic: When in doubt, almost always fold. Or, better yet: When in doubt, get the hell out!
Number # 3 Best Concept: To call a raise, you have to have what you think to be a better hand than the person raising, or a heck of a lot stronger hand than what you would raise with yourself.
Number #4 Best Ploy: Aggression! You gotta be aggressive with your “best” hands.” Don't let those suckers stay cheap and get lucky.
