Villain is unknown, but does not have a full stack and he limps PF, therefore one has to assume it is a rec player.
On the flop I am in great shape. Of course I can be against a set, but I want to get value, so I bet 2/3
So I assume I am against some Ax, 8x, some pocket pair scared by the A
Turn pairs the board.
My initial thought was that I do not want to chase away any pocket pairs, I do not want to isolate myself against 8x.
Therefore I bet small. Probably I had not noticed yet the small stack I was playing against.
When I saw the shove I realized I am getting pretty good odds, roughly 35%. I tanked and called, thinking that it should be profitable vs 8x + some random junk. I am pretty sure I would have folded if had a full stack
Looking back - vs. 8x (89 combos) I have only 20%, but if I add indeed just a little bit of junk (additional 20 hands) I am getting my 36%.
Any comment?
