Not sure what would happen, but we see the entire runout and not the flop alone.
In this case you have the best flush here and it’s possible villain would bluff you of your hand, because a 9 high flush isn’t to good with 4 spades on the board.

I don't understand what you mean. But if you're asking who would win in the showdown, then you would win with your 9 of spades because it's higher than his 8 of spades.
