Hi just wondering what a side game is? I hear it on Poker TV a lot but dont know what they are. Im thinking its just slang for ring/cash game. Could be wrong?

Side Game Side games are cashgames that take place on the side of a large tournament, e.g. players meet in a casino after tournament play ends for the day to play for cash. In particular, the main event of the World Series of Poker is attractive to so many pros not just because of the tournament prizes or the advertising, but because of the many lucrative side games filled with eliminated players.
