[Closed] 1/2 Blind defense vs Button 3bet...

Well it's a certain fold here in this situation, but if the ace hits, I think you have to bet into him, because of your relative position. If the capper was the button, then you could have c/r'd to fold the BB, but this is different. Hitting top pair with A7 is a pretty marginal hand, but if you're going to fold to agression after a steal, then what's the point of 3betting pf?

So, bet into the BB, hope he raises to face BU with 2, and fold if the BU 3bets.

Firtst of all, i think that you played the hand well. If he raises with slightly more than 20% of his hands you have an equity bigger than 43% and thus can 3-bet in the sb.
Now lets assume you hit the A for top pair on a A52 board, then the situation is in my opinion kinda tough. The Button could have a whole number of hands and if he is a TAG his range would include the top 38% and thus many hands without an Ace. BB is capping and thus we can generally put him on either an Ace, a PP, or maybe something like KQs, KJs if he is pretty aggressive and somewhat reasonable. The only thing we would be afraid of would be a bigger Ace, but we are not afraid of pockets or K high, because they have almost no outs against us. Thus i think the line would be to play it WA/WB with two opponents. Thus i would probably check/call every street unless it is checked behind because then i would value bet. Protection wouldn't be that important in such a situation since people who are behind have very few outs and thus you would rather have them make very incorrect calls and very correct folds when they are behind and get to a showdown cheaply yourself in case you are behind.
