I think it was too big, see: UTG limper bet only 25% potsize which is not very strong, maybe he hit the 2, 3 or J - in any case you beat him on the flop. And even if MP has a flushdraw, I think he would not call that big raise, maybe with Broadwayflushdraw but they then have to be afraid of a paired turn or river. And the flushdraw is still behind your hand, so a smaller raise would be better. You made them fold almost their entire range. They will not have strong made hands here with this line so draws are the hands that will pay you out, you dont want to make them fold their draws.

This reminds me of a conversation @filip212 and I were having a few days ago..

If villain is playing a flush draw how do we move forward with the hand? Do we want him to call our bet and if so, do we just bet the maximum we think we can get away with without him folding? Or do we want him to fold so that he doesn’t realise his equity? Again if so, do we just bet larger to protect our hand?

I think we agreed that we want villain to call and therefore we bet for value. I’m not sure exactly what the % chance of villain making his flush is (feel free to enlighten me). I think it’s something like 22% on each street and nearer 45% on both streets. I may be way way off so I’d love for someone to correct my maths!

And yes. I agree with @clovenhoofsdoom that your 3bet is a bit large. If we think our opponent is bluffing, which in this case he likely is as his range is so wide and he is donking very frequently.. we can just call and let him fire again. I wouldnt actually suggest that in this case however as there are many cards that improve our opponents range (A, K, Q, T, 9, 4 or any heart). I’d therefore be reraising as you have done but sticking to a size of ~ 12BB (x2 opponents bet + 4BB for the MP caller).

Your flop size was fine. The most ideal situation for you was to take down the pot immediately. You don't really want to see a turn vs 2 persons or get re-raised otf.
