Hey forum,

this is my first hand I post here for discussion so I hope everything works fine with the exported hand details. Please let me know if not.

I am trying to improve on hand reading, so this is my focus in this hand. I play the $0.50 45-man SNGs on Stars.

So my thoughts on this hand are: Since I did not know UTG at all, I just called his raise to go to the Flop IP. If I had known him and especially if I would think I have an edge on him, I would have tried to isolate him by 3-betting. What do you think about this? Anyway, unluckily SB and BTN call.

So on the Flop SB and UTG check, which shows weakness. I do have decent equity with 2 overcards and the nut flush draw, so I like the board and decide to bet a c-bettish amount. Yeah - and then the guy shoves. And what matters now is: With what hand would he do that? First of all, he called the PF raise, and as he sits on the Button, that gives him a pretty wide range. I'd say, any PP up to TT, because he would probably 3-bet JJ+. I also give him 56+, T8+, but I would exclude AQ+. If you consider that this is micro stakes, he could actually have any kind of suited hand. The core of this hand is his shove: And I have seen many players do this thing, shoving around 50BB on the Flop, with flush draws. So thats what I hoped for. But was it, considering the pot odds of 35 %, a +EV call? I wouldn't think this guy has a pair and push with hands like JT or 67. Two pair is not in his range. He could have a set, but I'd stilly have equity against that.

Hand has been posted in very good way. In general these are important points of good hand post:

- Hand history in easily readable format
- Define played game and game situation (e.g. is it FT, close to bubble, ITM, early game)
- Give your thinking in the hand (most important)
- Give any reads, notes or stats
- Dont give result as default if there is no specific reason. End result wont affect value of our decision but it can give skewed opinions from those answering. Now good reason for result could be to ask about villain line or if its sensible he had hand that he had. If giving that using spoiler tag as you did is recommended.

For the hand both call or 3bet are reasonable. Call can induce multiway pots but suited hand will play bit better in those. 3betting more often isolate it to HU or we get pot down right away but if facing 4bet this is sort of nasty hand to fold but too weak to continue unless its min4bet or something.

Postflop is good and when we bet versus 3 players sizing being on bigger side is fine as well. I would probably still bet bit smaller to make stabbing bit cheaper like 8bb. But we cannot really be bet-folding hand as strong as this. Even in worst case scenario versus set we are not that far away from breakeven call. But he could also have weaker draw or some KT (which we are bit ahead equity wise) so versus sensible range we often have well over 40% equity.

So this would be also good way to post hand history upto main decision point:

PokerStars - 15/30 Ante 4 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 43.9 BB (VPIP: 25.00, PFR: 8.33, 3Bet Preflop: 20.00, Hands: 12)
UTG: 58.47 BB (VPIP: 28.57, PFR: 14.29, 3Bet Preflop: 50.00, Hands: 7)
UTG+1: 48.23 BB (VPIP: 16.67, PFR: 6.25, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 18)
MP: 48.23 BB (VPIP: 24.62, PFR: 17.46, 3Bet Preflop: 14.29, Hands: 65)
MP+1: 48.23 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 18)
Hero (CO): 66.63 BB
BTN: 47.73 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 7)
SB: 88.57 BB (VPIP: 71.43, PFR: 28.57, 3Bet Preflop: 33.33, Hands: 7)

8 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.57 BB) Hero has J♥ A♥

UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 3 BB, BTN calls 3 BB, SB calls 2.5 BB, fold

Flop: (14.07 BB, 4 players) 4♣ T♥ 6♥
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets 10 BB, BTN raises to 44.6 BB and is all-in, fold, fold, Hero?

Doesnt mean you cannot ask aboout earlier decisions but this is the last action for hero. How board run out or what villain has is not something we really care.
