hi,

how do you think of my pre raise? I am torn between raising 200 and 150. I am in position and he completed for the first time. Do you raise differently over completes in early stages? Late on with less bb we tend to shove anyway.

Poker Stars, $3.16 Buy-in (25/50 blinds, 6 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: 1,267 (25.3 bb)
Hero (BB): 7,099 (142 bb)
MP: 1,435 (28.7 bb)
CO: 1,310 (26.2 bb)
BTN: 2,389 (47.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K♣: Q♦:
3 folds, SB completes, Hero raises to 151, SB calls 101

Flop: (332) 4♥: 7♥: J♥: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets 123, SB folds

3-4bb is ok with deep stacks like 50bb+. Here 3bb is enough. I tend to have small raise range 2.5-3bb to as small as 13bb or so. Less than that mainly shove or check.

What do you think of my cbet size? I think the board scares enough. FD calls anyway. If raised I would fold.

Yeah small bets are ok in these flops. Lot of gutshots or A high or small pockets without flush draws will often fold to it in these monotone boards. Even OESD might as most will consider decreased outs.
