You're only losing to AA, KK, TT or 77 on the flop. But we can safely remove AA or KK from his range, once he didn't 3bet pre-flop.
Other possibilities are AQ's, AJ's, AT's on a flushdraw or straight-flushdraw, shoving to increase equity.
Even against a very tight range for the UTG player of 6%, you're almost 70% favorite on the flop.
You were getting 42% pot odds (the pot was 4.65 + 2.55 + 9.54 = 16.74 and you had to put 6.99 to call, which gives you 6.99 /16.74 = 0.42).
Therefore, the call was correct.
