It's only suddenly crushed down onto me.
I'm out $900, just lost my job, have $300 dollars that I owe, and have a holiday I need to pay off for next month.
This sucks.

True. But I have no money to deposit into poker at the moment except for something small, like $20. Can't make much of a living at NL0.01/0.02. 
I'll just have to sell some stuff.

It's been looking up lately. Last I heard the stock markets for America were going up. I just gotta find a way to manage through this shit storm.
You can only rely on poker bucks if you are able to pay the bills during the downswings. I was making min wage for about two months, but the last downswing chopped the winrate almost in half. So, yeah, can't count on that!
Hope you will find a job soon. As for me, I'm graduating this year... it sucks!

it's kind of sick to read that. In germany the impacts of the crysis are not so bad. It doesn't change anything for the most people (yet).

Definitely feeling the crunch here in Canada, and moreso than ever in Ontario. Used to be Ontario was the economic engine for the entire country, now its one of the 'have not' provinces. Ontario is actually getting money from Alberta, which is a complete turn around, and you can thank the oil industry for that! Hell, even Newfoundland is fairing better these days, and that's something NO ONE would have expected to see happen.
We here in Ontario live and breath with the automotive industry, and its taking a massive shit kicking lately. But it seems the unions are finally starting to come on side in the struggle. There's even talks of the government and the unions BUYING General Motors and Chrysler!
Not sure if even that would be enough to kick start the economy here though. I think automotive is dead for the most part, and there's going to be a huge transference of wealth and power from it, and Ontario is going to be on the losing end of that deal.
