I think I could bet bigger OTF like $1.25 to build a bigger pot when I hit.
As played, realizing equity OTT is not the worst plan, but I wonder if it's better to 2nd bar.
By my assumptions I have at best ~30% equity and won't have enough FEQ on the turn.
We also need 50% equity to value bet. So, bet OTT doesn't accomplish much.

Assuming that Villain x/r 2pair+ OTF. I left all FD (so my equity could be worse by ~2% as played, so 29%).

Board: T♥8♦5♦ 6♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    31.36%  31.36%   0.00% { AdQd }
BB     68.64%  68.64%   0.00% { 99, 77-66, ATs, KTs, QTs, JTs, T9s, 97s+, 86s+, 76s, 65s, QdJd, Ad9d, Kd9d, Qd9d, Jd9d, Ad8d, Kd8d, Qd8d, Jd8d, Td8d, Ad7d, Kd7d, Qd7d, Jd7d, Td7d, Ad6d, Kd6d, 9d6d, Ad5d, Kd5d, 8d5d, 7d5d, Ad4d, Ad3d, Ad2d, ATo, KTo, QTo, JTo }

Conclusion: Since 6♠: hits Villain's range pretty good, I don't have FEQ and should realize my equity by checking back OTT.

I don't really see the point of betting that big on that flop as you're gonna have to check back many turn cards. They won't fold 8x of draws.

My idea on betting bigger OTF is to prepare for bigger turn bet in case I hit A, Q or :diamond:, but it probably doesn't change things much.

Point is to bet big, when I have more than 50% equity against flop calling range, which I clearly have.

Flop bet 2/3 or bigger, I think that´s ok. Vs fish I´d say 2/3 is okish, vs reg overbet might be good. I would 2nd barrel OTT, we have bunch of equity, so bet can´t be -EV. X might be fine as well, but vs fish I´d prefer betting. OTR I fold. Raise could be the move, but I haven´t stuided fish tendencies in that spot, so I prefer folding.
