PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

SB: $5.09 (101.8 bb)
BB: $5.21 (104.2 bb)
UTG: $4.16 (83.2 bb)
MP: $13.07 (261.4 bb)
CO: $8.16 (163.2 bb)
Hero (BTN): $6.32 (126.4 bb)

SB posts $0.02, BB posts $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has Q♦: J♦:
UTG calls $0.05, MP raises to $0.21, CO calls $0.21, Hero raises to $1.00, 4 folds, CO calls $0.79

Flop: ($2.33, 2 players) 2♠: 7♦: 8♦:
CO checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($2.33, 2 players) K♥:
CO bets $1.12, Hero calls $1.12

River: ($4.57, 2 players) T♦:
CO bets $2.19, Hero raises to $4.20 and is all-in, CO calls $2.01

Hello, stats on villains:

MP is 29/21 reggy looking guy after 68 hands
CO 51/15 recreational after 50 hands, on 1/16 occassions he made a 3bet
SB is inactive 12/8 after 25 hands
BB seems a reggy looking guy 24/17/7.4 3b after 84 hands

My questions for preflop are:
1. Is QJs better as a squeeze or cold call? How does CO being recreational+blinds being on a reggy side influence range I should be playing?
2. Not sure about sizing of squeeze - 4-5x the raise is ok? Went bigger to build a pot vs rec.

Flop:
I decided to go for a checkback. Board is good for his range, SPR is already low and vs a check/raise I'm gonna have a hard decision. Also it's hard to predict what a recreational can do. By checking I can realize my equity and I need only 2 streets for value to get the stacks in.

Turn:
Scary card comes on the turn but it should be scary for his range and not mine.. I need 25% equity but I guess I have implied odds.

Thanks

I like to call pre. I may consider a fold pre as well most of the times. Re-steal against a MP 4x and a CO call seems to crazy for me.
Flop is fine to me.
Turn I also agree with you about implied odds if he seems fishy.
River you hit so it is shove time.
Cant really put him on a range after a cold call to a squeeze from MP and a call OOP to your 3 bet...

I like calling preflop. After we squeeze we should bet our draw on the flop as there are plenty of better hands that will fold and you can also barrel a lot of turns as well. He is kind of capped after calling preflop and you should put some serious pressure right from the flop.

I don't know if there are that many hands that'll fold...
Flop SPR is about 2.3 (hero's effective stack = 5.32 / 2,33 in the pot), which is quite low.
Turn SPR is 0.91...
Not a good spot to double barrel imo.

Squeezing is cool, calling is cool, that's poker IP for you.
If you don't cbet that flop don't squeeze that hand though lol. What were you waiting for, flop QQQ ? Or QJJ would be safe enough to place a little bet ? ;)
You have to know what you are doing with your range and plan for different situations, here you seem clearly lost whereas the spot isn't any tricky whatsoever.

By the way the flop certainly isn't good for his range. That's one of the reasons why you are supposed to barrel it.
And the turn isn't pecularly scary for his range as you're supposed to bet most of your Kx on the flop. Clearly I don't agree at all with your reasoning and range attribution at each point.

The way I see it, pre can go boths ways. When you call, you invite UTG (another fish) into the pot, which is what you want (to play pot with fish), the downswide to this is that if BB or SB were aggro, they could squeeze and you will face hard decision. However, this won´t happen at NL5 frequently enough, so you can call. One more thing, CO range, if he was a reg, could have you dominated pretty much (KQ, AQ, AJ, KK, AA) because there is fish in UTG, so slowplaying AA should be a decent play there, so dont forget that.

I would cbet flop vs fish, they have very loose range, so you wanna punish them for it and you have enough equity to do so (2 OC + FD). I think as played it´s not that bad either, but I prefer cb OTF. After x OTF I play it the same way.
