Yes, surely i will start at lower limits to try to acoplate to online games , and online players.

P.D of my 1st post. I chose Cash Games strategy thinking that it was questinons about how to play correctly the cash games and it was wierd short stack strategy which i had to read the articles to pass the test because I really do not think and play the same as the poker strategy short stack strategy says. It is really wierd and i don't know how online poker works but it think it must be rewritten because i don't think that strategy would be profitable. If i am wrong, please, correct me.

I think a good limit to start for you online is 50NL (0.25/0.50).

I don't know that much about the short stack strategy, but i know that it's supposedly profitable I'll let others elaborate on that topic... but as you already have experience playing with a deep stack, you probably should stick with that.

You don't necessarily have to start with the SSS. I think that is just the suggested beginner's strategy for people who have no background in poker. I played about 60k hands of it just to test it out (played online poker for about 4 years before joining PS), and now i've switched to BSS.

None of the sites are scams, and they will all pay out your money if you win. However, I do find that the financial processing speed at PokerStars is much faster than at FTP. I've also played BSS on Everest at the micro-limits and it's quite profitable, very soft tables.

The key reason (I believe) why $5/$10 games are much tougher online than live is due to the fact that at most casinos, $5/$10 is the lowest limit that they offer (although I know some have $1/2). Thus, even the weakest players must start there, thereby making the tables softer. Also, do keep in mind that stat programs are not available in live casino play, a fact that also lowers the level of play.

One of the keys to playing online poker successfully (as opposed to live casino), is that you have to make good reads based on the stats available to you (via elephant software or poker tracker). I think that this is the difference you'll find between the two venues.

As such, I would recommend even starting down at NL10 ($0.10) BSS, which would actually require you to deposit about $200 (if you want to keep proper BRM, can always try with less first, as long as you dont' play scared money). Once you are more familiar with stats and multi-tabling (another unique feature of online poker), you can slowly move up the limits. I think the competition jumps quite a big level at NL50 (.25/.50) and again at NL100 ($1). However, a big winrate (always a good way to start) is definitely possible at NL10 & NL20 if you play properly.

I have finally chose Full Tilt Poker for my first online poker account.

I was in a hard investigation and i finally chose that.

Read that the poker stars players were much stronger than full tilt poker ones.

So, to start, it is ok if I play on the one who people say it is easier to start.

I will keep you noticed about my news when i get my account ready to play.

Regarding TheBrood's statement: Quoting someone and saying "this" is internet colloquial speech for agreeing what was said in the quoted statement (instead of writing it out oneself).

As already stated here; online and live poker are two pair of shoes. Although the basics are the same - the importance of a mathematically solid game is much more important online. This is because you are playing a lot more hands, face better opponents, and can't rely on the typical "live reads".

Well, to me SSS seems to be quite profitable... I play it - with some tinkering of course, since I don't like playing like a robot... Some elements from big stack strategy are quite useful even at SSS.

And hell yeah, online is a lot harder than offline... But you mostly should play mathematically at the lowe limits (lower than NL20). Calculating odds etc.. The software is an extremely nice thing at higher limits, where the number of players is not that large.

I have been playing some games for today, a lot of varieties which i have found very intersting and very new for me.
Like for example super turbo sit and goes, heads up shootouts sit and goes, cap pot limit omaha hi tables, and many others things.

After a day of game play, i am at U$ 50 like i started, thing which i find not bad for my first day of hard work. (i say hard work because i dont win hehehe, but i am doing it to learn and mostly for fun at this limits)

MiddleofNowhere, I will be really glad if you say me when and where can i see you playing because i really wanna see someone using the SSS and being profitable at the same time.

Well, i play at Mansion poker..

However, I am having a huge downswing last 2 days. I was having like 160 bucks, now I am down to 60-70 =\ May be thats what happens when you jump over your limits, since i started playing NL20 almost the same day my 50 bucks arrived.

SSS is in fact a mathematical strategy..

You can see the videos, however.. In the "video" section. There are some examples, they may be useful for you.

In fact, the right thing to do is just calculating the number of your outs... This keeps ur mind busy from trying to put any unnecessary risks into your game as well as helps you to win.

And the ShortStackStrategy really works as long as you respect the rules...
It is not adviceble to try different strategies from higher limits at 10NL since many players really have a hard time folding, even when they are behind... but some of them are extremly lucky!

I am back again. I was on a 2 week holiday trip to Brazil.
Unfortunately, one of the sons of my brother asked me to let him play poker with me and i was in Brazil, and he played, and he could not win any and now my account is in 0!

But no problem, i will be probably be depositing this month 1k to try some higher tables.

smells like desaster... i have no clue how strong a player you are, but one could get the impression that you overrate yourself (basically because your online experience is very slim) and that you are going to be a nice fish for the players of the higher limits

i wish you all the best and hope for you that i'm wrong, but i thought maybe some tough words now than crushing 1k in no time...

As you are new to online poker, may I suggest you just deposit a smaller amount, and buy yourself pokertracker 3. Keep a record of your hands and beat each limit of play from at least NL25 before you invest so much. I'd recommend putting in like $100 and starting a t NL10 and building that to $150 then try NL25 and so on. But it's your choice of course.

How could you ever think that you can make profit from casino or blackjack? It's just f**king luck games, you better invest those money to buy something.
