What should we do OTT? I decided to go check-call OOP. T is a bad card and a raise with my top pair hand is a fold has we have seen this week.
River price is good with top two but I feel he has it here. Looks like slowplay to me. Check call flop, check back turn, bets on scare card. He know I can have something worse to call with.
Villain is unknown.
Turn opens straight draws and flush draw. It is not great for us, but my standard line would be to bet the turn again with a plan to check behind OTR. This way you can get some money from weaker hands and draws. I don't often like the check in these situations because it gives a free card to the villain and also sends a signal of weakness.
I'm not sure about folding this hand vs this bet size. You need to win this like 22% of the time for it to be profitable.
If we give villain for example 17 combos of random Jx hands here, he needs to bet only with 5 combos of KQ for this to be profitable.
Bet/folding the turn could have some merits indeed. Or calling the river as played. Is it your nit day or what ?
Preflop - Ok
Flop - I would check with the intention of betting the turn and river for value. Flop is not that scary for our hand, and that way we can get value from middle pairs and KQ that will probably check call here turn and river to bluff catch
Turn - Bet first time to protect our hand vs. draws because the T is a scare card, fold to raise
River - Value bet small trying to get value from bluff catchers (55-TT), folding if he bets out/raises.
The way the hand was played I would call the river.
