flop: I would call here with the intention of floating
turn: Fold. A flush and a straight just completed. If he is betting on this board he is not folding to a river bluff.

If you decide to float on that flop but don't wanna keep up on the Qs what turn would you have liked lol.
I like it as played.

The key point of the hand is the turn. If you call here and you hit OTR there's no going back.
I even think the J♦: is better than a spade card, besides the A♠:.
From my NL2 experience, double barrels OOP are often strong hands.Despite a flush and straight completes OTT, it is a 1/2 bet and you have position. He will check some rivers OOP and you can re-evaluate.
His 3bet vs your UTG open usually means TT+, AK, AQs - AT's. It won't go far from here. Some weak suited aces maybe.
You'll face some nut flushes on that runout, but can't really fold that turn with position and a decent draw.

I would often 4bet the AKo pre and call AKs, but this is ok too.

Postflop I kind of like it as played.
On the other hand, SB could 3bet UTG with a tight range and on top of overpairs he could have strong combo draws and some nut flush draws. The problem with floating is that our backdoor flush is not to the nuts. As shooshte pointed out, flush and straight just completed and if villain has a flush it could be to the nuts. I do agree with Floxy that it is weird if we don't want to call OTT when we hit a card that we basically were looking for. Maybe we should consider this already OTF?

I might even consider folding here OTF. It would be another story with A♠:K♥:

What I meant with floating the flop is: A lot of times in this position villains will 3-bet, cbet flop and then give up on the turn. So a nice exploitative play is to peel once, bet back when they check the turn or give up if you don't improve.

I would not call any turn bet if the turn card is not an A or a K.

That sounds like an okay exploit against players who indeed cbet the flop too much and check fold the turn a lot. However, without good reads I'm not sure if I would take it as a standard line.

It is true that this happens very often. That is the reason why I tell almost all of my students to be a bit smarter with their cbets. If you are doing this often, you might face some trouble at higher limits where they actually start to be a bit smarter

Anyway that's not the point here we have AK and we can do better than that with it.
