I took a risk and played a $55 high stakes tournament and cashed for $266. That is my biggest ever cash. I was willing to pay $55 a week out of my bank account to play this tournament each week, but since I won that money, I now have 4 buy ins in hand to last me a month of playing this tournament. I know not good bankroll strategy but I want to play the $109 PokerStars Sunday Million so bad once I win the $55 Sunday Marathon - ie. when I have $10,000 in my PokerStars account (91 buy ins in hand).

Over confident? Maybe. But I was the chip leader at one point in the $55 Sunday Marathon yesterday, so I know I can make the final table very soon, as I finished 76th place last weekend :)

I'm not sure how the ranking is working, but I expect if you cash a lot in higher tournaments your ranking will be better.

You are kidding right?

There are nearly 3000 runners in that tournament every week. Even the best online player in the world is only going to make a final table one time in a hundred. That is 2 years for one final table. Let alone winning it.

I am not trying to burst your bubble. Clearly, you don't understand MTT variance enough, particularly in big field events.

Do yourself a favour and don't spend another cent on playing MTT's until you have researched variance more fully.

At the moment, you are just buying lottery tickets.

It is good to dream. But do some work on your game and understand variance better. Otherwise those dreams are going to get wrecked week after week.

Only very hard work, self discipline, honest self appraisal and a thorough understanding of the game will achieve your poker dreams.

That is why so few people ever do it.

Good luck Sir in your efforts.
