Jepp, easy fold. nothing to do about this. This is hardly ever going to be a call. Say villain has a set, which he will most often have here. Even if we hold AhKh and the flop comes 4h5h2c, meaning we have an inside straight + flush draw we are still only 36% to win, meaning we need roughly 2 to 1

but the pot odds we're getting is only 35bb to call 56.5bb meaning roughly 3 to 2. So even then it's not even close!

Easy call in this situation. We must win 38-39% of the time and we have 2 overs which are good. He will rarely have set, he wont shove it. And we'll even have the best hand OTF much more often than you might think, and sometimes we will crush him. I have seen hands like KQ or KJ in this situation.

And of course easy fold for the original situation.

He can totally have sets. I see them overplaying their monsters more often than not.

It both gives your opponent a free card + an opportunity to turn hands into bluffs. Just size down.

Bet folding our equity isn't that terrible here, as we only have 12% to the next card.

The only reason you wouldn't bet is if you think your opponent would XR as a bluff or X jam marginal hands at a high frequency. But if he X jams 88-TT and 87 or A7, we shouldn't care.

In position against a short stack a 4bb raise seems fine, but on the flop a 5bb bet seems more than enough to try to win the pot against him. Now he shoves you have an easy fold for sure.

I like the c-bet smaller (denying equity) But indeed Check back to avoid having to face c/r c/jam against some villains can be more useful...
