How clear is this fold? I thought it would be a mid pocket pair. Question 2: If I knew for certain that it was a medium pocket pair would it have been alright to go all in with AJ? (considering the equity would be like 44-46 percent and I already have $4 in the pot which is pot odds of about 43% - are my calculations correct?)
the villain is unknown

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

UTG ($39)
UTG+1 ($23.50)
MP1 ($102.55)
MP2 ($104.50)
CO ($17)
Hero (Button) ($17)
SB ($103.15)
BB ($20)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, J
2 folds, MP1 calls $1, 2 folds, Hero bets $4, 2 folds, MP1 raises to $13.50, Hero raises to $17 (All-In), MP1 calls $3.50

Flop: ($35.50) Q, 10, 6 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: ($35.50) J (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($35.50) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $35.50 | Rake: $1.75

Hello,

You can't really calculate the pot odds there, it's possible to calculate EV there.

Range 22+
EV(Push) = 18,5*0,462 - 13*0,593 = 8,546 - 7,709 = 0,838

Range 22+, AQ+
EV(Push) = -1,3765

So I'd prefer to fold there.

Best regards,
Rensu

you just need 38,5% equity.

13 / [(17*2+1,5)*0,95]

It's a simple fold since you ain't using stats on NL100 (midstakes)

And knowing as in intuition isnt good on midstakes which is a mix of smallstakes fishes and solid players so thats a 2nd argument I recommend you using statistics

Hi WildBeans,

I would like to add one thing, however this isn't about your play, but maybe it will be useful. I'm not quite sure can I post such things, but good way how to get sample hands is buying Hand histories. Google for HHdealer. I'm using this, and it costs only few bucks per month (If I'm not wrong than for NL100 it will cost less than 1BI/month :)) and every day I get fresh HH. It's so nice to sit at table with 5k+ sample size on all evil regs and push those TT, JJ, AQ, accordingly.

P.S. If my post is against rules I instaedit it :)

I don't know if it's against the forum rules, but I'm sure that's against full tilt rules.. isn't it? Or does everyone do that?
