Opponent opened 17% over 40 hands and probably looser on sb. Should have shoved and never flat there. 15BB deep would have insta shoved and 30bb deep little 3bet. This is basic resteal even if he calls everytime with 17% range I have 45%. I am probably right on this one, but just thinkig that is the flat that horrible sometimes in this spot?
for me, you are too deep to shove pre. I like a limp shove here vs most opponents. he checks pre and donks into you. You have the odds to call this on the flop. Getting it in here is reasonable if the board don't hits his limping range that often but its also ok with you stack. You are just unlucky that he has a hand that would expect him to raise or shove pre. If he raises you have an easy shove and if he shoves its tough to fold an ace for about 20bb also. An alternative line is to call flop and let go on the turn unimproved. If you semi bluff shove as you did you need fold equity to make this play profitable. If the villain is a calling station you don't have the needed fold equity und I would play my hand passively.

Indeed, but a 3bet shove seems fine for 21bb effective. Especially on a 3bb raise and antes in game.Cheers,

Yeah shove is fine but I really don't mind call either because that way your range is bit more protected postflop in A high boards and it's suited which give bit more postflop playability.
PS: Also I would mainly call with this hand with deeper stacks. I suppose you can mix in 3bet with it sometimes with lot deeper stacks like 100bb+. Bit mainly you want 3bets from BB to be more polarized.
