Hi guys, the villain is marked as a fish. I saw many times open shoves with very weak hands from fish. There still is a slight possibility it's a misclick.
I would like to know what do you do in this situation? Is it easy fold or hard fold or do you call it?

it's a weird shove, but if you have reads he could shove with weaker Qx hands and draws I would call as well. It's a marginal spot for sure.

I think this is one of the spots where you need a crystal ball to tell the correct answer. My quick math shows that we need to win this about 47 % of the time to break even. Because of rake we need to win it actually a bit more often. Now it depends on how random hands villain can really shove here. I played a bit with equilab and gave villain quite weird range with bunch of flush draws and also weaker Qx hands and I got 47% equity.

In the end I think this is a very high variance spot and I probably would just fold and wait for a better spot.

I would not call in most cases, unless I know that the villain is on tilt and pushing any pair or draws.

Against a fish, you could get a lot more chance to stack him off in the near and far future. Give him 8BB now, and take it back soon.

Here is another line I sometimes use. Assuming UTG range is strong, and MP has a drawish hand (connected or middle pair), 3bet with your nut-potential hand, like suited connector or mid-pair, and fit/fold play on flop. At NL2, 3betting to UTG would narrow opp's range a lot.

Crystal ball indeed. I would fold. I don't care if I'm ahead vs his range or not. This is 2NL, play as simple as possible and don't involve in marginal high variation situations like this one and you'll be fine.

my default calling range against a recreational in this spot is TPTK+, usually. any frequency reads you have can help (just a "fish" label doesn't)
