What is YOUR mentality the table like while you play poker?
what do you think about, what do you consider?
I was cleaning my flat and came across an old (over a year) notebook. From a time where I completely changed my style, got a coach I blindly trusted and was really struggling to make it work at first, often eating ramen living off of rakeback
I am really proud of that time and all the hard work I still live off of,
and I'd like to share this with anyone who is playing poker full-time and is strugglign with money:
MENTALITY AT THE TABLE
• All I have to do is focus on confidence, focus on the hand I'm in
. . . And how best be ready for the next hand
STEP ONE: FOCUS ON THE HAND
• THINK IN THE HAND. . . AS HARD AS YOU CAN. TAKÉ YOUR TIME. MAKE YOUR BEST DECISION. YOU ARE AWESOME AT YOUR BEST! IT'S LIKE A TEST AT SCHOOL, GIVE IT YOUR ALL.
• It's like being a star trek captain: You just sit there, nothing's happening and then BAM! Life or death decision the crew relies on (that will end up in the TV show)
STEP TWO: When the hand's done THAT'S IT!
• No thinking about if you screwed up . . . That's STEP3
• No worrying about results, paying rent, being down or up for the month or in session. . .
• No worrying about your coach, or people that see your plays . . .if you followed STEP1 that's all you can do. Don't think how you'll justify yourself
• Rest your mind, be ready to POUNCE at all times, prepare to unleash your A-game when necessary.
STEP THREE
• Record all your sessions, review them or send them to coach
• Watch as many as possible. ALL Of them when not doing well!
• See where you made mistakes, where you can improve, what was your mindset and thought process like?
• Do it again and again, making STEP1 more and more powerful
