Hey guys,
I've been meaning to make a blog for a while but haven't felt like it was the right time until now. I've been playing Poker for a few years and after a long period of lacking motivation and purpose I have recently decided to take things more seriously and try to move up in stakes again. Currently I am playing 400-1k NL on European sites and some Chinese games on the side and my goal is to eventually move up to $25/$50 & cny50/100/200. Other than that my goals are to keep working towards strong fundamentals in practice and in studying and to better manage any involvement in results.

Let's do this :challenge:

Hi,
October has been going really well. I moved places earlier this month and still working on sorting routine stuff out. Currently playing around 5 hrs a day and studying around 1 hr. My study hasn't been super efficient lately and I'm dicking around a lot, so I'm looking to become a bit more productive. I'm thinking around 7hrs work per day and 1.5-2hrs of that study, but even on my current 6 hrs I often feel a little burnt.
Here's a graph of Oct with my tracked action

I played China as well, which isn't included and I'm not sure how to go about posting those results yet. Or results in general. I noticed that when I start months like this I get a lot more involved in variance than if I start BE or losing, which is something I really want to deal with better. I booked a session with a meditation teacher who is also a psychologist for next week and will start working on the mental side of things regarding poker. In the past years, when I had phases of poor performance or experienced a lot of struggle with poker, it's always been related to some kind of involvement in variance. Be it trying not to lose, or getting caught up in thinking how unlucky I am, somehow trying to control results or sessions or how unfair it is that I'm trying to get good at this game and some whale keeps stacking me, getting upset about errors or getting upset about being upset - all that stuff. I think it has been really detrimental, not only to my progress in Poker, but also to quality of life around it. So I will begin to take this much more serious over the next few months.
