I was afraid that my opponent had pocket pairs and made a three of a kind. Specially wenn that A hit the turn. Was i correct to fold?

bet the turn! and go from there

i 3-bet the flop and lead the turn since we have the best hand on the flop very often and are able to trap the button for 3-bets almost always.
On the turn it is closer, but i think we can almost call down since i don't think MP raises and A here very often except AJ, but he could have a variety of hands (KJ, QJ, QQ, TT) that we beat.

oh right i didnt see you called the flop raise ..thats an easy 3 bet

Hm yes u are right, the biggest hand he could have had was AA but then he would have capped it pre-flop. And only one hand could give him the nuts here and thats JJ. But he could have had a whole range of cards like u said. Is this correct?

Anyway i think this is one of my biggest errors im making atm. I almost never Cap anything until im 100% sure i have the nuts.

How can i come to such insights that u have? It seems all logical but why didnt i come up with this. Why was i scared that he had JJ and why didnt i consider the possibilty that he could have KJ, QJ, QQ, TT ect like u pointed out. Are there some topics that i can look into somewhere?

Im pretty confidend abouth my play atm but things like this still bother me cos i dont get them 100% yet. Could u please help me out abit?

you just have to think about hands you play, hands other people play, and realy think about them. That is pretty tough. You just always have to find spots where you can improve your play. And concerning bad play and totally stupid jugdements, that happens to everybody. Here a hand from yesterday, with a mistake that cost me almost 1BB imo. Can you find it?

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J♣, J♦.
Hero raises, 4 folds, BB 3-bets, Hero caps, BB calls.

Flop: (8.33 SB) 4♦, 2♥, 6♦ (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.17 BB) 7♥ (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

River: (8.17 BB) T♣ (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 8.17 BB.

villain: Matthias Wahls, ps.de coach and generally playing up to 20/40, not very tricky from what i had heard, but no very good read.
Try to think about that hand and write an analysis and i will take a look and see if you did it right.

Okay i will try. First of all u are playing alot higher then i am atm. Because my Starting Hands Chart says nothing abouth capping a hand like JJ but maybe thats because its maybe made for the lower limits?

Anyway abouth your hand. The pre-flop reraise from your opponent on the BB maybe means
AA KK QQ AK and maybe JJ TT? These are the hands that i can come up with studying the SHC. So going on with that its hard to say if he is ahead of u or not. Seeing on what hands i put them as i stated above. There is only one hand that your opponent could have wich u beat. Wich would be TT. But his check on the river makes it less obvious that he has TT because he would definatly bet if he made his Set on the river.

He could also have made a Straight here with 98s but i dont think he has this hand. Capping this preflop would be nonsense.

Honestly i would have folded this hand after he raised u on the Flop. I think he has the AA KK or QQ. He would never had raised u with AK on the Flop. And his play on the river states he dosnt has the TT either.

These are just my thoughts. Maybe im totally wrong. I dont know. Give it to me baby!

Edit: Maybe he tryed to check-raise u on the river wenn he made his Set with TTT? Damnnnnnnn now im really confused =)

upps, totally forgot about your limit
this makes this hand quite different since you aren't adapted to the lines that are used there.
His preflop 3-betting range i would put much larger and i think he is capable of c/r here with things like AQ, AJ maybe thus i call down
The real mistake i made on the river since he would certainly bet any better hand than my JJ (AA, KK, QQ; TT). Thus he would call here pretty much always with a worse hand on the river and it is an easy valuebet.
I guess this didn't really help since the play at those limits is quite different so dont try to play like that quite yet :)
I guess it isn't as helpful as i thought it might be but i hope you still got some insight on the thought process here.
Best thing probably is to really actively participate in hand discussions, asking questions and trying to comment even when some higher stakes player has already commented to give some feedback and get him to expalin his thoughts in more detail

Hm okay =) anyway since i attracked your attention u want your thoughts on the following:

I have bin playing for 3 weeks now at the 0.05/0.10 tables after completing the Quiz. After 1week went up to $55 second week went down to $45. After studying some more im now back at $54. Im playing from monday till friday 2hours a day max. But in the weekends offcourse alot more.

Before i completed the Quiz ive studied the Beginners section many times. But didnt feel comfertable yet. So i bought Winning Low-Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones and studied that book to. Im feeling confident abouth my game atm. I fully understand the book ive read. And ofcourse the beginners section at pokerstrategy.cc to. Wenn i play i always try to read players and guess what hands they have. I also view the Handhistory wenn im playing to discover what hands players had. And i occasianlly post some hands at this forum.

But im not feeling fully confident yet. I read alot abouth players doubling their bankroll in the first month. Are these people just exeptions? Or am i just not as good as i think i am?

What do u recommend me to do? I wanna get more into the game then i am atm. After reading your thoughs in this post im definatly going to be more active at this Forum. But what more can i do? Maybe read another book? Or would that maybe be a bether idea to w8 untill i reach higher limits? Should my goal be to get those 100PP asap to get a Silver member status? Im at 55PP atm so thats going to take a few weeks.

Im also playing at 1 table at a time atm. Should i allready switch to 2 tables? I know im able to multi-task since ive pld Online MP games at a pretty decent level for years.

Could u give me some advice on this?

ok, i will give it a try
it is not unnormal to not start winning right away since there is variance in the game and it sometimes takes a while to really understand the game as well. Doubling up in one month oftentimes is a huge upswing and everything that goes up has to come down again eventually.
Improving your game is very important, especially in the early phases in the career to really get the basics right. This includes hand reviews/discussions, books, etc. The more you learn the more confident you will become and good results also help, when you win you feel way more confident, but never really pressure yourself, because that is really the worst thing to do since it kills your focus and makes you look mainly on the short term effects which are very dependent on luck. It is in my opinion always good to learn more, even if you don't understand things right away, will help you to get a deeper understanding of the game and how to beat it.
the advanced section thus would be interesting but i wouln't play more just to read it. Play as many tables as you feel comfortable to play, if one is fine, then play two (for FR this schouldn't be a problem if you are pretty familiar with SHC since most hands you will just fold preflop anyway.

To sum it all up, i would encourage you to really try to get the reasons for certain recommendations on handplay for the sample hands and really try to analyse them yourself and post those results to get feedback. Another good things are books/coachings.

I'll let the pros handle your questions :)

but for blinzler and other great players: It was a great help to see a hand where you made a mistake- and great practice to go through it and try to find the mistake by ourself - i hope you will post more of those mistake examples later

may i guess what matthias had?
AQ or AJ... i believe he would fold to a bet on the river ;)

Maybe AK or AQ suited in diamonds?

he had AQs in spades
i think he might have called with AQ, but would certainly have called Ak imo. He also would have called 99, 88.
