[Closed] $3 AK A high paired flop

First of all, I don't like rerising AK early, just cold call.
The flop really sucks, becouse villain might just have a worse A, any PP, etc., but hard to say if it's that often to go broke, so I might consider c/c, but since he check raises you I'd might call and go broke on latter streets (if he has KK-, lower A, he won't call a shove from you most of the time), or give up, I think it really depends on the reads.

I prefer calling the check/raise on the flop and shoving the turn. lulda is right though, call preflop is slightly better.

what call AK early?-chart say raise :-).
is it all time better just call AK early or its only for early phase of tournament:?

I don't like just calling here pre-flop... I wouldn't re-raise to 10BB's either but shouldn't you at least make it 5-6BB's there and make it 100-120. Ace King is a strong hand but I don't think you wanna see a 5-way flop with it? If you just flat that 60 bet you often have a million people calling behind with pretty much any two cards >.>

i dont like calling preflop with AK early - becose we can have lot of limpers with any pairs and we can go broke with two Kings against set or two pairs.
chenny - how can we play this more profitable with just limping?

For the early stages it's best to raise AK if you're the first raiser or call if someone else raised before you... reraising AK builds a big pot with a drawing hand when there is still a long way to go... I don't mind AK in a 5-way pot, tests your post flop skills... be prepared to let it go if you have to, even with TPTK... early stages is all about protecting your stack...

My reasoning for just calling is slightly different. At 3.4$ tournaments this applies less, but at 16$ (and to some extent 6.5$) and above I don't like a reraise too much because:

it makes continuation bets very very expensive.
a reraise often folds out hands we want action from, such as AQ and AJ.

fyi if you reraise you should make it at least 180. any less gives our opponents superb implied odds.

also for future: limping is when there are no raises and you just call the big blind. if we call here preflop we are not limping, we are simply coldcalling preflop.
