Hello,

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $1.41 (70.5 bb)
BB: $2.13 (106.5 bb)
UTG: $2.31 (115.5 bb)
MP: $9.99 (499.5 bb)
CO: $1.69 (84.5 bb)
Hero (BTN): $2.49 (124.5 bb)

MP is 64/1 after approx ~100 hands (no reads on this preflop line as I have seen it from him for the very first time)
SB 68/39 after ~20 hands

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 6 7
UTG folds, MP calls $0.02, CO folds, Hero raises to $0.08, SB calls $0.07, BB folds, MP raises to $0.20, Hero calls $0.12, SB folds

ISO raise vs a limper and I get a 3bet from him. I usually see there a strong range. Want to give him a AA-QQ, AKs.
The 3bet is not big and I will be IP postflop. Also there is a chance that SB will join in. That's why I decided to call.

Flop: ($0.50) 8 2 5 (2 players)
MP bets $0.24, Hero calls $0.24

I believe that implied odds justify a call here.

Turn: ($0.98) A (2 players)
MP bets $0.16, Hero?

Well, fold is not an option now. What do you think about a raise?
Do you think he could fold some of his range that beats me?

I think raising flop would have been a better option.

His turnbet is very small, looks suspicious tbh. You could raise but I doubt he would fold anything and certainly not a small ace.
I'm actually temped to fold turn. (but I would have raised flop)

Villain could fold bettter but i would i bet on it ? nope id call and take the good odds were getting offered. If villain checks the river we can think about some bluffs at that point imo.

Pre-flop would be a fold most of the time, but with those odds and the implied odds I wouldn't mind it. That's the same on flop and turn. I wouldn't raise with in mind it's really tough to let him fold a hand and if you hit the straight on river you get most likely still enough action of sets, Ax and 2 pair hands.

Cheers,

Min raising and then barrel bluffing very small might be worth it, but I’m with reds again. Just take the nice price. This dude could have anything.

The biggest mistake you made here was preflop. You don’t want to raise improving hands like this against fish unless you’ve seen that the fish folds postflop!

You’re saying your raising to isolate but why do you want to isolate him? You think he’s gonna fold postflop? Perhaps you don’t want the other villains to come along with their A4??

I suspect the only reason you isolated was because you have learnt to trust in this play and do it every time... That’s bad... But don’t feel bad as it’s clearly what everyone else here does too!

Sorry everyone, but there is no reason to isolate here. You’ve all just been learning bad shit. Don’t fold this one preflop either. There is money here, you just need to make the very simple limp.

Mp limp/3bet? Those ones usually scares the hell out of me. Folding preflop is a bit silly given the price and position so call and play a flop, this hand is great for that.
I think isolating is not that bad, but there are better hands to do it in fact.
Flop board is not good for him I suppose, with backdoors and position I'm pretty sure this is a call.
Turn looks like a block-bet with worse pairs that are afraid of the A. You can definitely call given the price and position.
I think it will be profitable to bluff scary rivers, like when the flush completes. You still have a draw too.

Not sure how tight his 3-betting range is but hes being a tricky limper! I think most tricky limpers have actual hands. Maybe a range like 99+,AT+,KQs. This is a very odd line by your opponent. I think it is pretty odd for him to bet so small on the turn if he hit a pair of aces given the board texture, he should be betting larger for protection. This also leads me to believe there's a chance he has 99-KK and doesn't like the Ace much, If you were to re-raise him to 2/3 pot , our formula would be risk/risk+reward.

so if he bets 0.16 and you re-raise and make it .76

pot at start of turn= $0.98 + $0.16= $1.14

2/3 pot raise would be $0.76

Risk/Risk+reward $0.76/ $0.76 + $1.14

$0.76/ $1.9 = 0.4 which is 40%

This means our bluff needs to work at least 40% of the time anything more is profitable.
When I give villain the pre-flop starting range from above..... on the turn his statistics are
44.8% of the time has top pair ( an ace)
44.8% of the time he has Pocket pair below top pair (99-KK)
a set about 5% of time (AA)
no made hand 6% of the time (KQ)

When we bluff raise him to 2/3 pot he needs to defend with at least 60% of his hands, and he only has an ace or better about 50% of the time, this means raising him on the turn might not be the worst idea., if he just calls your re-raise with KK-99 or worse and checks the river and you go all-in he will be put in a pretty tough situation with anything that doesn't beat a pair of aces , but these players are pretty bad so idk, since micro players sometimes have trouble folding high PP even when an overcard comes to the board just wanted try and disect the hand.

Forgot to mention you still have Equity to river a straight, and there are so many ugly river cards for your opponent straight and completed flush river cards that a bluff might not be a bad idea
