Below hand played yesterday...

So far on Villan only 5 Hands...

The question is, should I just have folded the Button on the 4 bet? I guess the Flop should have been just a call, to keep the POT small?

PokerStars - $0.10 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

Hero (BTN): $21.23
SB: $11.70
BB: $13.90
UTG: $5.88
MP: $9.84
CO: $10.00

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has T♠ Q♦

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.30, SB raises to $1.20, fold, Hero calls $0.90

Flop: ($2.50, 2 players) 4♣ 7♦ T♣
SB bets $0.80, Hero raises to $2.36, SB calls $1.56

Turn: ($7.22, 2 players) A♥
SB checks, Hero checks

Spoiler

River: ($7.22, 2 players) 9♦
SB bets $8.14 and is all-in, fold

SB wins $6.90
Rake paid $0.32

That should have been fold preflop. His 3bet is 4x which is a large sizing and you dont need to defend wide against that, especially against an unknown. Also open raise on button should be smaller - 2,5bb is ok. As played, on the flop I actually dont mind raising. He can have a lot of broadways and flushdraws which you beat now but which can improve on later streets so your hand needs protection. Turn is an action killer so pot protecting and folding river is fine.

But definitely fold preflop to avoid these tough post flop situations. You have many other hands that you can defend with and which play better post flop such as middle pocket pairs, suited connectors or hands like AQs.

Agree with the above poster it's a fold pre for me and i wouldn't raise the flop your turning tp in to a bluff imo.

Yeah I just reviewed the Hand again, absolutely should have folded it pre Flop...Specially as I"m playing Zoom...
