Hi everyone,

I play this game for 3 years. These years I have faced some periods of bad luck as it is logical. all the times the bad periods last from some days to some weeks. But Now I'm facing bad beats for 3 months in a row. WTF? To be honest,in past when I heard for such a long periods of running bad I thought about bad players. I didn't believe that these periods could last too long . But now I am in the same situation and I really play very close to my best. Do you ever running bad for such a long time? And how to handle it?

Take a break and do something fun. Just forget about poker for at least a week. You are very likely not playing close to your A game if you are running badly for 3 months.

stop thinking in months
think about it in sample size (totalhands)
what are you playing?

I am a veteran of several million hands played now and have experienced all the run bads one can expect at poker. I once run bad for like 150-200k hands on Pokerstars. So bad I almost quit the site convinced the RNG was rigged for fish.

If I am running bad I study my losing hands and work out if I played my hand badly due to tilt, or did I play it right and just got unlucky. If I got unlucky I am playing winning poker over the long term even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. But if I played it badly, like calling off TP TK to a nit, or calling river shoves when it is clear I am beat while holding AA, then I need to start playing my A game again.

Before starting each session it is good to read out loud some self-coaching points. Any mistakes you have been making which have crept into your game. Repeat them several times to prepare your mind not to make these same mistakes again in your next session.

I'm stt sng crusher, probably one of the best on the site. My ROI was over 16% at 3.5-7$ with 25k game sample. I'm playing my A to A+ game most of the time but for the last 2.5k games my ROI is barely over 10%. I'm constantly getting coolered against nit fish type players getting AQs+ TT+ late game only to be up against absolute top top of the range, but on the flip side getting complete garbage hands against good(decent) regs (regs are mostly pretty bad at these levels). Can't even call their 3bb shoves in the BB due to the bottom of the barrel hands I'm getting in these spots. I'm definitely not screaming "rigged" yet, but i can't shake the feeling something is off here.
