I originally only wanted to set mine, but the sb was a short stack, and I thought if I were going to play against him, I had to get it all in now instead of seeing a dirty flop.

Limp/fold preflop. You just don't have the odds to call there.

You can try this vs someone that can actually fold. This guy's stats suggest he is very loose and a station to boot, but not a complete maniac so I would prob refrain a shove with 55.
You are either dominated or on a coinflip so just fold pf.

a limp/shove with 55 is something a fish would do , just fold it after the raise.

Yes, it was a fishy move for me, and to tell the truth, I"m not even sure why I pushed.

But if 55 isn't strong enough, what pp would be? 99+? 88+? Or JJ+? Usually, in that position, I would raise with anything 10's or better, limp smaller for set value. Just wondering if there is a case for limp/shoving with small to medium pocket pairs in EP or MP positions.

Any hand that you could shove there should have been raised pf. When your small pp limp gets raised and you dont get set odds, just fold.

But as played I would prob only shove 99+, AK since he is very loose and short stacked.
