Hi guys. I'm debating how I should have played this hand. The situation - new table. This is the first hand between the Villain and I. Never played against them before.
I'm a relative beginner so if my assessments are wrong, I'd really appreciate straight up talking to correct my thinking.
Pre-Flop - very standard, I expect.
Post-Flop - I don't know. If the guy had a good hand pre-flop like 5's and flopped a set, he wouldn't put in a 1BB bet. It's unlikely he has an Ace since as I hold 2. If indeed he did have one, wouldn't he 3B Pre-Flop?
My initial raise to 20c I think is far too inviting for him to call. I should have raised it to 27c or 28c to make the odds not so good. If he has :Ax::diamond: then he isn't getting the right odds to call.
When he min raised me, something didn't feel right. I smelled manure. If he was really strong he wouldn't play the hand the way he did. Or at least, that is how I felt at the time!
My raise to $1.05 is probably on the light side as well. When he min raised me AGAIN I was tempted to call but I think shipping it in is correct.
So the question is - how much of my assessment was incorrect or ill-thought out? What do you think my opponent was holding based on his play?
