Ok, you made a bet preflop, the button called.
Now the flop comes all hearts (lets say 4 T Q.... Your move. You don't have a chance at making a flush, because you don't have any hearts in your hand.
Do you still bet 2/3 of the pot to try and bluff the opponent out?
I for one think a more rational approach would be to c/f here.
Id virtually always put in a CBet there. You will take down the pot in most instances.
If your called re-evaluate but know its probably time to give it up, if your raised its an easy fold.
checking is too weak and your your giving the pot away. Against some opponents though who are very aggressive on the flop I might even check raise. Obviously only do this though if your image allows it and you have enough hands on the opponent and know their style.
If you give off the image you will only cbet when you hit your asking for people to call you in position with any two knowing they can steal if you miss or they hit good giving them 2 shots at the pot on the flop
