Dealt to Hero: 8♣ A♥

UTG Folds, HJ Folds, CO Folds, BTN Folds, HERO Raises To $0.40, BB Calls $0.30

My SB vs BB strategy changes a lot depending on my hand and the opponent, but I will usually open to 4x and limp everything that is somewhat playable.

Hero SPR on Flop: [10.93 effective]
Flop ($0.80): T♥ 8♥ 9♥
HERO Checks, BB Bets $0.38 (Rem. Stack: $8.36), HERO Calls $0.38 (Rem. Stack: $8.92)

Didn't see the need to bet since I have a pair, so I decided to x/call.

Turn ($1.56): T♥ 8♥ 9♥ 9♠
HERO Checks, BB Checks

Sort of a bad turn card for me, since my flushdraw is no longer to the nuts when the board pairs. Still I expect villain to 3bet TT, 99 and I block 88 pretty well. His two pair hands that bet on the flop have also improved, but when villain checks back here I almost completely discount any boats on such a wet board. I feel like villain checks back, Tx, maybe trip 9's, some flushdraws and complete junk that bet the flop and is just giving up.

River ($1.56): T♥ 8♥ 9♥ 9♠ 7♥
HERO Checks, BB Bets $8.36 (allin), HERO Calls $8.36 (Rem. Stack: $0.56)

River is interesting because it completes my flush but any J♥: or 6♥: gives a villain a straight flush. Villain could definitely have some J♥: that bets flop and x's turn, stuff like JTo, J9o, J8o, KJo, Ajo, maybe even QJo. When villain overbet jams like this I want to puke. Could definitely be a straight flush, or tricky full house that checked the turn. I really did want to fold but convinced myself he could be turning a pair that checked back turn into a bluff, or maybe even overvalue a Khigh, Qhigh flush. What would you all do on this river?

Spoiler

BB shows: 9♣ 9♦

BB wins: $17.37

Seems like a decent board for you to Cbet on with the nut flush draw against a passive villain.
As played I would just go for a value bet on river and if he shoves I would make a fold.
Now you have a hard time, but on a paired board your flush is more often the 2nd best hand than not against a passive player I think. I doubt he will shove trips or a weaker flush like this.
