The flop cbet is on the small side because the board is paired. Should it be bigger because of the possible FD?

Thought the Ace OTT would be a good card to fire a 2nd barrel. Do you agree?

Pre-flop is a loose open. Especially on NL2 with in mind you could deal with passive players.
Post-flop I would just give up in a multi way pot. Ace on turn is indeed a decent barrel card, but that works only against players that know how to fold draws and decent pairs.

Cheers,

It's a fold pre for me and the flop is also just a check/give up you have little to no equity in the hand, but as played the turn barrel on the scare card is ok imo and the river we should probably be bluffing as 8 high has zero showdown value

First off, why are you c-betting multiway with complete air?
It's a genuine question I'd like you to answer. What is your thought process for c-betting here?

It is possible that I missed that it was multi-way. Can happen occasionally while multi-tabling and HUD overlays parts of the table.
HU I would cbet because a paired board is harder to hit and it is usually difficult for villain to continue OOP.

You have no equity when called. The standard line in this spot should be to check back heads up, and if the opponent checks again, THEN fire the turn with a follow up on the river should you be called.

On the flop we have air, and no information. We are crushed by villains calling range. We have no turn cards apart from shitty gut shots. we don't want to triple barrel this hand.
You can't just bet because the board is paired. Look for backdoor equity such as a straight draw or flush draw.

Just remember you don't have to win every pot, it's okay to give up. And think about your backdoor draws when you make a cbet. This paired board logic is nonsense.
With love.

I appreciate your directness!
You are right. I just checked my notes and that confirmed it, too. This might even be a general leak in my game.
Thanks for pointing this out!

preflop is way too loose from CO, 75s is about the lowest i open.
regarding postflop, not all paired boards are equal... that said, this is one where i don't mind betting range, especially against certain kinds of weaker opposition. however, on the turn, you have to be more strict with your hand selection, and this one won't cut it. you can't just take all your air and try to rep every "scare card" that comes up.

i think sometimes we try to force stuff or we feel we are entitled to win because we are better than the fish, whereas it's more about being ready when the opportunity arises.

so here pre and turn are a bit of forcing it imo, taking one stab at the flop almost ok as played, even though the stab would be more reasonable at the turn if it was checked down.
Just as an example : OTF we have 12% equity vs two 25% range villains.
